Practice observation

Sam Young is huge and looked good in drills worked hard and was constantly giving Tyron Smith pointers. He looks like someone who is going to challenge Smith. I have to say Smith was big too!

#62 I believe Arkin really looked like a blue collar worker to me. Always hustling.

My opinion Choice was the better running back today over Felix. Just was seeing the hole better today.

Romo was pretty sharp just didn't like the fact he didn't go deep often. The couple he did he was successful and since it is practice I was hoping he would have done it more.

Dez looked awesome!

Church and AOA and starting corners were very aggressive today. Liked what I saw and #36 looked good was around the ball quite a bit.

Kickers #5 ball just seemed kicked better than Buehler. Buehler was upset he missed crowd booing when he missed.

Coach really impressed all were engaged and teaching every play.

Best part was when new drills would start Jason Garrett would jog to the next session and be first one ready to go. Other players were following his lead and hustling to the next session.

It was cool and I am typing from my phone so I apologize for any grammar errors.

Great report! Thank you for posting it!!

Forgot to mention Olgetree had some nice grabs today, had crowd a few times. But then he had to drop one right in his hands! Then it was like here we go again.

I still think they pick up a vet WR before the season starts.

That's interesting because Calvin Watkins reported that FJ looked smooth and hit the hole very good today. Here is his direct quote: "With no Marion Barber on the roster, it allows Felix Jones to become the starting running back and he did a nice job running the ball with the team in shells. Jones hit the holes smoothly and showed a quick burst. He did drop a screen pass for his only mistake of the day. ..."

Yeah. I read that report about Felix Jones from Watkins. In fact, here is what Archer wrote about Choice:

* Felix Jones took most of the first-team runs, but Tashard Choice took a handful as well. He showed nice patience on his first carry but not too much patience in getting through the hole, keeping a hand on his lead blocker as he ran.

Just curious, how did Mike Jenkins look? I haven't really heard anything about him yet. Also, who was he up against?

Thanks.

Jenkins was aggressive...he came to play. Had some nice plays.

Jenkins looks like he had a chip on his shoulder, every time a running back came his way he would give them a bump. Heck that was better then not touching them at all. He was aggressive really, he lined up half against Dez and other half against Austin. I liked when he went against Dez because they were jawing every play. It was fun to watch and both did not want to lose the battle. Hopefully they keep that intensity up always.

He's going to be the swing guard for this team.... I think he shows promise there and I dont think they will hinder his growth by making him learn the guard position.
The guy is like 6'8. Hope he has some pretty good bend in those knees if we have him playing guard.

I think he meant to say swing tackle.

Ware looks small and runs funny. I saw him in Oxnard and a few others back when we still had Terry Glenn.

Man, he was awesome to watch in practice.

So was Romo.

Thanks for the report

Seriously. Nice to hear from someone on the ground. I recognized a few board members when I was there last time. But just in passing...of course, didn't have a smart phone then either.

Very cool stuff now.

That's great to hear. I'm really pulling for him to rebound and have a STELLAR year. Thanks, guys!

Bryan Broaddus has a man crush for Arkin.

Gosh - hopefully this kid can play. This team is overdue for a few diamonds in the rough.

The runs up the middle were not the best today. Between the tackles were much better. I did not watch Costa closely but that is what I saw as far run plays went.

There so many new faces on the OL I couldn't tell who was who. But 62 Arkin did show some fight. I really liked what I saw from him today. Holland might be in a dog fight with him if they do not bring in a vet.
