Here is the write up on tonight’s practice from the DallasCownoys.com crew.

It sounds like it was a good practice with a few notable things that happened.

  • Malik Hooker doing the things he always has done, picking off a pass and turning it into a pick-6.
  • Kelvin Joseph seemed to have a real good day, getting some PBU’s and an INT. He seems to be coming along nicely.
  • The pass rush sounds like it is much improved, with Parsons, Armstrong, Odighizuwa, and Gregory getting pressure and would be sacks. If the pass rush is good, the defense will be waaaay better this season.
  • Cooper and Lawrence got back to practicing with the team. They should be right on schedule to be ready for Tampa.
  • Finally, they mention that McCarthy all but said that Biadasz is the starting center and that Williams will be the LG.

Anyway, nothing Earth-shattering, but stuff we all like to hear anyway.

Yes...the thing that was hard to tell from the camera angles was how much pressure the D was getting and how much holes were bring opened by the OL in the run game.

From several reports the pass rushers were doing well...but Gilbert especially had a fair amount of success throwing it.

All the RBs looked like they had some good runs...mostly off tackle or wider.

Well, some of those passes Gilbert threw… he would’ve been on his back instead of throwing them had it been live action. Parsons might’ve killed him.

Thanks for posting Asthma.

Bossman, can I have a minute? Okay, the good news is you had another strong practice. The bad news is you're really struggling and barely making our roster. Why can't you be more like Nahshon?
He is who he is and is the best option we have. Fredbeard part 2 who knows being good at his job works for me.

I'm excited about the Armstrong hype. He could be a strong asset if improved along with Gregory and Tank with Parsons roaming around.

If Malik Hooker can stay healthy he'll be a definite plus at S.
Joseph and Wright are producing an interesting battle, at this point I think I favor Nashon Wright.
I think we have 2 winners with Parsons and Cox. Parsons should be a starter and Jabril Cox is looking good.
WR Simi Fehoko interests me.
Hope Gallimore heals quickly, we need him.
This year's offseason IMO is really producing some quality improvements which I think speaks well for McCarthy and Quinn. We've had a great draft this year and we're showing real signs of life and desire on the field.

two years in a row it appears to me very good stuff

I don't believe anyone on the team has ever even *hinted* that Williams was competing for the starting C job. People have been mistaking Williams becoming the game day *backup* C with him competing for the starting job.

I never thought that CW was going to be our starting C. Im glad they are getting him reps at that position and hopefully he will not have to fill in at that spot.

I agree. He holds the ball too long, and tends to panic throw. You can see it on tape. Other than that he's very serviceable. He isn't as prone to stare downs, and seems to throw well. Still wish we had a more viable #2.

one minute and you got 8 bars being spit at you

from what I could see & hear during the broadcast, the rush success was primarily coming at the expense the C & LG. If so, what is good news on one front is bad news on another.

I don't think Biadasz is the answer. The OL can't be weak right up the middle. We need to look around more next off-season.

it is a head scratcher to me that they just penciled him in as starter. didn't seem to have plan for competition nor for solidifying the backup spot. all that should have been part of year end reviews and guys working during the offseason. something smells off about this whole situation. with our track record, it feels like they completely misread the situation.
