Practice Squad Contracts

Can anyone tell me what a practice squad player makes?

Is it typically a 1 year deal, does it count against the cap etc?

I was wondering after watching the last Hard Knocks and Amendola was offered more money by another club (Possibley Philly).. what kind of money are we talking?

I have read before where Dallas pays PS players the rookie minimum which is considerably higher than the PS minimum set by the league. This is to keep players from jumping at the first offer to come along just for the money. That info was from when Parcells was here so I don't know if that was a Parcells deal or if they still do the same thing...my guess is that they still do it.

Not sure either, but it has been reported that Danny Amendola received a bigger contract from the Eagles but declined it in order to stay with the Cowboys. So we may not be offering a substantial amount more than many other teams. It might be just enough...along with the Star, which sells itself.

All of our practice squad players make $5,200 per week, which comes out to $88,400 if they stay on it all season (17 weeks).

What can they be paid? I'd think there would be a limit or teams would "stash" players unfairly.

Not to be signed FROM a practice squad but they do have to be signed to the 53 man roster. But they do have to clear waivers BEFORE they can be signed TO a practice squad.

Also, they don't have to clear waivers if they are DROPPED from a Practice Squad. They can be picked up immediately by another team.

I know other teams have been known to pay 53 man min money to keep the better PS guys.
