Practice squad

As far as we know no Cowboys cuts were claimed. There is a thread on it, so not sure what the deal is. Maybe they just don’t think much of him?

IMHO Chunn beat out Bo straight up in training camp. Everything I read was that Chunn had a great camp and in his limited play he looked way better.

Bo finished with 69 yards on 24 carries this preseason, a 2.9 yard per carry average. If you take out that one 28 yard run he had, it’s even worse - 1.7 yards per carry

Wow, they must not have thought much of Bo.

I've got to admit, after all the hype on him l expected to see a much better player than what I saw. From what l had heard l expected to see people jumping out of his way to avoid being run over. He looked like he was running in sand to me and was taking more hits than he was giving...

One of the better PS I can remember. I think there are 3 NFL ready players that can be called up and contribute if needed. Jackson, Tapper, and Lenoir. Price would make four if he is added.

Bo ran too upright and didn't let the holes develop. Those issues can be fixed. I hope they can keep him and coach him up.

The Cowboys have signed these players to their practice squad:

WR Dres Anderson, OT Jake Campos, RB Jordan Chunn, RB Darius Jackson, WR Lance Lenoir, CB Donovan Olumba, LB Kyle Queiro and DE Charles Tapper.

Two spots remain #cowboyswire

Sorry, I didn’t know how to post the link on Twitter by Nick Eatman. If the mods want to help me out, much appreciated

yay, Tapper!

Chunn over Bo is a shock. For many, likely an outrage. The Darius Jackson Cut revisited.

:D
I thought there was a pretty good chance another team would want to kick the tires on Charles Tapper.
Me too. Freaky athletic with good size and power, finally healthy. Once I read up on him, I liked the pick. If we can keep him for next year, it will give a little padding to the option to let Lawrence walk.

At least this FO got the practice squad correct. I feel bad for Bo - I was rooting for him, but having Darius available in lieu of an emergency is comforting.

Very happy to get Lenoir and Tapper back.

Regarding Bo I thought he had a decent camp, but when it came to preseason games he didnt look overly strong at the line which is what I was hoping for. Thought he would be the type of player that even though he gets hit at the line still pushes forward for a few yards. Took him time to build up and didn't break many tackles unless he had 4 or 5 yards of space to build momentum. The offensive line certainly didn't do him many favors, but was hoping to get him on the practice squad with Jackson.

The NFL changed the practice squad rules a few years back, making it easier to keep guys with minimal experience.

Two players are allowed to have 2 accrued seasons towards free agency and all players must be on a PS for at least 6 games for it to count towards their allowed three seasons.

Kadeem Edwards doesn't appear to have any remaining PS eligibility, he was with the Jags for a year and on Dallas' the last two.

Brian Price should be eligible. so should Duke Thomas, Marquez White definitely is.
Yeah, wrong player, thinking of someone else!

Most of us get a little too attached to certain players every year.

Given DeMarcus Lawrence's history of back issues, I wanted to go long at DE and felt Charles Tapper had done enough to make the cut.

Yet here he sits on Dallas' practice squad after the rest of the NFL said no thanks.

Which, oddly enough, led him back to our PS and he got some frequent flyer miles and hotel points out of it.

Same plan I had. Too much risk with Lawrence for a top DE contract.

We got Tapper on the PS. Worked out even better than planned.

Crazy how people get brain washed by ESPN highlights still. Bo would likely be on the team... if it was still 1999. However, a big RB that doesn’t do much at a high level besides run fast in a straight line doesn’t have much value at this point.

Five of these guys signed with Dallas as undrafted college free agents. Even though they haven't made the regular season roster to date, it's a tip of the cap to the scouting department.

However, two others were drafted and have spent time on the active roster before failing to make the cut yesterday, Charles Tapper and Darius Jackson.

The eighth guy, WR Dres Anderson, was a late camp addition who turned some heads in practice and pres-season games (but he's no Caraun Reid!).

Two open spots remain, one of which may go to recently waived Brian Price or another DL.

An outrage?

Bo was a 7th round pick who looked quite unimpressive most of the preseason. If he hadn't played for "Alabama" there wouldn't even be a discussion about him.

Chunn was put in there with total scrubs and made some good dirty runs. He runs low with great forward lean and has impressive lower body power. Bo looked like Tarzan and played like Jane. You can't run upright unless you are quick enough to make people miss. Bo was never that quick.
