It's a bruise. I played HS football with a broken fibula. Wasn't even getting paid. But granted, it's the administrators probably more than the player holding them out.

I played college football with a torn ACL and a broken foot. I also had a bruised shoulder and couldn't practice for 2 weeks because I couldn't move/use my arm with that injury. Hard to play any sports when you can't use one of your arms.
