Thanks to caller ID, prank calls have become a lost art. You used to be able to call anyone up and they would not know who it was. So goofy kids (like me) could make prank calls with impunity. I know some of you are near my age and must have done this. Write your favorite prank calls in this thread. Here are mine.

    1. We would look in the phone book for someone with the last name "White." Then we would call them up and ask, "Is this the White House?" If they said, "Yes," we would say, "I want to talk to the President."
    2. We used to call someone up and have one of us say, "Long distance calling from New York. Will you accept the charges?" If they said "yes," the other one of us would get on the phone and say, "Hey, man, it's your old Army buddy, Mike. You ya been, man. Remember that time you laid that girl in the back of that Chevy? Hey, remember when you threw the mud bomb at Sergeant Jursczak? ....." And talk really fast, not letting them get a word in, just babbling on and on while they think they're paying for an expensive long distance call.

    Your turn.

Crank Yankers has some pretty good prank calls but I think the original series was better than what I’ve seen of the new series so far.

When my buddy and I were younger still living at home. My mother (and later I) had a PC with a modem in it. It had speakers and a mic and everything. (yeah, even back then!)

Anyway, we used to look through the phone book (yes we had those!) for teen phone numbers. (yep, they had a section just for teen phone numbers) We would call them (mostly girls) at like 3am and ask them questions messed up questions with different accents while they were half asleep. hah This is Paco, did you clean your ***? rofl.

The best stuff we did though was we used to call bars all around the city and says we were a radio station. We would say we were the C&M radio show on KOTX radio station. (yeah, say KOTX as a word rofl)

Anyway, we would tell the bartender who we were and ask them to include the patrons and someone had a chance to win Cowboys tickets if they could answer trivia questions. So we would ask them questions like
    1. Who is the only Cowboy in history to catch an interception and a reception for a TD in the same game?
    2. Who has the longest field goal in Cowboys history
Now, we were really rah rah and lively and would get everyone in the bar all worked up, but no matter what answer they gave they were always wrong rofl. To top it off, we wouldn't tell them the correct answer (because they were usually right.... WRONG! hah

Anyway, when we were done. We would ask the whole bar to chanting K-O-T-X, K-O-T-X, K-O-T-X, and then my buddy and I would shout KOTEX RADIO and hang up! rofl

Good times! I wish we still had those recordings. Those hard drives are long gone though.

Anyone remember Dr. Gene Scott? rofl. He used to do Chuch teachings and ask for money for his horse farm rofl. Anyway, my buddy one day called him up to make a comment. Well, the guy who answered the phone was rude. BIG MISTAKE! rofl.

He called me, and we called two other of our friends and all night all four of us would call his donation hotline and prank, ask to make comments and such to the point that Dr Scott came on TV and kept complaining telling us to stop calling. One time when he was doing this the phone rang and he shouted "Don't pick that up!", but the guy already did. So (right on TV) asked. What do they want? My buddy said, I would like to make a comment. Dr. Scott looked into the camera and said, "You tell the fools, I'm doing the commenting here!" rofl.

It's great, we had that recorded on VHS too. (the second he started talking on TV about us, we immediately got a VHS and started recording rofl.

    More good times!
