More MSNBC pics of the tornado damage in KS & MO, here

It was a bad tornado all right. Reports of 75% of the town destroyed. Unfortunately dozens of people have been killed. It's not that far from here so all the local networks have sent reporters. The live shots I've seen already are typical and nothing unusual but they still just take your breath away. We really need to keep those people in our prayers. This was a life changing event for thousands of people.

Its really sickening to me just how many thousands of people are being affected by disasters in this country lately.

Look at just this year alone, with the Mississippi flooding, and then choosing to voluntarily open a spillway to flood 25,000 people out of their homes and way of life. It also seems like we've had more major devastating tornadoes this year than any in recent memory, etc, etc..

We have so much cause for concern at home right now, i really don't see how we could afford to be trying to give billions of dollars in aid to other countries right now while so many here are suffering.

There is a video out there, well mostly audio since it is almost all too dark to see. It is of some people that went into a gas station for some shelter right before the storm hit. The audio is pretty amazing.

I will not post the link to it as there is a couple of adult words in it but I am sure you can find it on youtube.

I saw that one. The videos of the tornado itself are quite amazing. Mile wide tornado.

Look like my wake the last time I busted into a rage,
went to the crib
and got the twelve gauge,
went back to the store
busted down the door,
and all saw
was pizza galore!

RIP to those that passed and best wishes to those that survive.

This one really hits home....many friends in Joplin. My grandmother passed away last summer in that same hospital that was hit.

Fortunately, all my family and friends are ok....

Man, that tornado blew up quick. It looks little and then it just exploded.

Guess two rescue workers have been struck by lightning.

My thoughts are with the people of Joplin.

I hear this saying a lot. Not to bust on you personally and don't take it in a bad way. Just wondering what you think your thoughts are going to do for the people of Joplin? I'm just curious why you (and others in general) would choose to use these words about people (most likely those who you do not know) suffering. To me, it sounds so empty.
