The Cowboys are going to use Carr at LCB and Claiborne at RCB.

Mike Jenkins is showing up today, but won't be able to practice so look for him to be placed on the PUP list prior to the start of Camp next week.

Also, Claiborne seeing time on Punt Returns, may split the role with Dez.

Calvin Watkins is reporting Skip Peete and Rob Ryan have lost a combined 125 pounds.

42 players are practicing today. Matt Johnson has a hamstring tweak and is being held out. Danny Coale and Mackenzy Bernadeau also not practicing, and Mike Jenkins as reported earlier.

Does PUP at this point keep Jenkins out for 6 games immediately, or is there a second PUP list at the end of camp?

Are any of those three really slot guys anyway? Scandrick seems to be the slot guy for us, especially if he trusts the safety behind him.

Are these guy on the field already this morning? Do we know what time they start??

TRAINING CAMP IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PUP is only open to players who start camp on PUP. During camp, players on PUP can be moved to the active roster at any time. once the season starts and they're still on the PUP, they have to wait for six weeks. After that the team has a three-week window to move them to the active roster. If they miss that window, they are out for the season.

Importantly, no player can be moved onto the PUP after the start of camp.

5 players were put on the PUP today: CB Mike Jenkins, G Mackenzy Bernadeau, FS Matt Johnson, WR Danny Coale and G Kevin Kowalski

I hope Carr is ready to make move to LCB. I do think however that he can't be worse than how Newman played last year.

So pumped for the start of traing camp. Football is so closeeeee

By putting players on PUP before camp, does that allow Dallas to bring extra players to camp on it's "active" roster?

Should be an interesting practice for Lance Dunbar at running back. He is the only one practicing. Darrell Scott is not.

Tyrone Crawford is getting work at right guard on the punt team. If active on game day will most likely be on all teams.

Surprised that Adrian Hamilton is not getting any work with this punt team. I thought he would have been on all these.

Wade Wilson just yelled to Lance Dunbar, hey let's get some wheel routes here...Dunbar only RB practicing just smiled at him.

Jason Garrett telling James Hanna that he has to play with more bend in this routes. He is much too tall and upright. Little tired now.

Right out of the box Garrett sends Benford vertical on Claiborne able to run with him but help from the middle of the field from Williams.

Hakim takes his route inside with Claiborne all over him. Not much separation of staying on his hip as he crosses.

Was asked other day about other outside linebackers that could be inside, just worked Albright at Mike.

Madison is one of those CBs that always seems to finish the play. Just knocked the ball away from Kemp on curl.

Connor getting work with inside linebackers at the Will spot. Lemon is your Mike.

Claiborne is going to have to learn that he can't grab WR off the line. He is going to have to be better with his hands technique wise.

Jerome Henderson is coaching one side of the field this morning, it's Mo's side.

Henderson's coaching points are to squeeze the WR better when he drives on ball.

Mike Jenkins is on the side doing rehab work for start of Cowboys' 3-day pre camp workouts.

Rob Ryan still has his belly, but he looks slimmer everywhere else.

Mo Claiborne is fielding punts under watchful eye of Joe DeCamillis.

Word is Cowboys safety Matt Johnson is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Joe DeCamillis just dropped his first high-decibel F bomb. Cowboys camp is officially underway.

Morris Claiborne is fielding punts, but wouldn't call him a natural back there. Just whiffed on one.

First rep of team drills: undrafted WR Tim Benford got step deep on Morris Claiborne but dropped the ball. 1st-rounder chipping off rust.

First play of team drills was a deep pass to Tim Benford, against Mo Claiborne. Benford had a step on him, but dropped the ball.

A nice pass breakup by CB Isaac Madison, who could be almost even money to make this team. Has been impressive.

#Dallas #Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne back fielding punts this morning but has whiffed on the last two attempts.

No word on if Dallas Cowboys rookie safety Matt Johnson injured his hamstring taking his final exams at Eastern Washington or not.

Cowboys guard Mackenzy Bernadeau, who missed OTAs recovering from hip surgery, is working off to the side with training staff.

Cowboys LB Dan Connor, who signed in March, is practicing after missing OTAs while recovering from shoulder surgery.
