I was just watching Fish jive on in Malibu really before there's anything to talk about. Outside of 105.3, local media has been pretty quiet over the past month or two. I see a couple new channels popping up to fill the void, like Double Move. If you haven't come across that channel on YT yet, it's been pretty good. Should get better as the season rolls on and the drama of whatever happens unfolds. That's why it's never easy to predict.

This year, though, we've got some nice weapons coming into camp. Gallup has been rested a whole off-season now, after recovering from his injury. I expect him to be back, full swing. I don't know how many receivers make the roster or how many, but I expect my boy Jalen Moreno-Cropper to show up to camp. If I have my eye on any player during camp, it's going to be him. I want to see him fight his way onto the team, because he has to, if he's going to make it. I know one thing. Jalen Tolbert looks in shape. But that's what everyone thought about him last year, too. He looked flashy in the off-season. Come football time, he disappeared. Jalen Cropper is totally the opposite. This kid knows football. He had a supportive football family, so he's been around it since he was very young. I expect him to push for a spot, on the field. My biggest fear is he'll get pushed off the roster by a less talented player, and have a great career elsewhere. Like some felt about John Ridgeway last year.

That said, this roster is stacked. Pretty much from top to bottom. Even if we have to roll with Cooper Rush, I think this team is cut out for a QB like Rush. Dak can make it that much better with his athleticism. The thing about Dak is he really hasn't ever thrown that many interceptions. I think he's a great player. Then again, I still think Cooper Rush is somewhat underrated, too, as a player.

Mostly, I don't have much to say, other than I'm very happy to have most players back from last year. That's the whole thing with Zeke. If he comes back, he's going to have to come back in a new role, and I think a FB-oriented role might suit him, say, if Fant, Luepke don't work out for that role. The Cowboys say, they don't want to insult him.. Well, the biggest insult was cutting him and not making any offer. But it does send a message. They paid him when he was super good. Then he came back the next couple of year and was just good, not super good. So, it ended up bad. Oh, well. I just expect to hear the Zeke drama as camp nears. It'll be interesting to see what happens, and who makes this team, who doesn't.

I know we'll have several players poached, just like last year, so that'll be interesting to see as well. I feel like they've done well in the past assembling rosters. So we'll see how that goes.

Now that our draft picks are in, I'd say my pet cats are pretty much all of them. I'm like the pet cat lady this year, for the draft. I actually like all of our players. I can see the Cowboys keeping 6 WRs again this year. But this year, they'll have the players at other positions to do it.

That'll wrap it up until things finally get started. Man, that was a long off-season....

Overshown is my pet cat. But then again, I'm a big UT fan.
My favorites are Overshown and Schoonmaker, probably Fehoko. But I really like everyone we drafted. I'm stoked. Maybe I'm just a homer. But I just feel like we got players who fit roles. So we shall see.

By the way, Overshown is going to wreck shop. I feel like this was a sneaky good draft. Like, back in the old days before our run style. It'll be a hoot if this turns out to be a legendary draft. Injuries happen, teams get hot, new schemes outmatch old ones, and so on and so on. I just feel like we can run a more WCO style, ball control offense here. With more runs and dinks and dunks and we have great players to pull off what we do, and players like Overshown just add more diversity for DQ and our defense.

We need a backup RB to step up and surprise in camp, and we need a couple backup OL to really step up too.
Our defense should get the job done, but our Offense has risks at RB and OL.
Jmo.
Jones and Davis should be get as backup RBs

Same with Chuma, Waletzko and Farniok on the OL

It would be so cool for Fehoko to burst on the scene a la Harvey Martin style. Not predicting it, but it's not impossible.

He is my pet cat this preseason.

Man dude...if we don't "fix" our o line...we get no where.

By "fix"? I dunno. Stay healthy for one. Have a better scheme. A better disguise and surprise. Better THOR hammer.

How about we make a hole instead of making our prize running back showcase his speed to the edge?

Have to burn 8 yards to find daylight? Come on.

Need rooks in the backfield to show something camp and preseason to trust early, otherwise a vet will be dialed up, or sift through other teams cuts,,, lets hope we have something now with current depth.

If we were too conservative at RB, then we will find out early, and this TE core is going to see heavy action.

I like the skill sets and variety we have rostered at RB, but guys like Davis and Jones need to prove more than just camp fodder.

There are far worse backfields in this league.

There are ways to burn over aggressive run blitzing Ds, the smart teams are and have been doing it for awhile.
Having hands coming out of the back field, and TEs that can block and catch, can hide alot of weakness on an OL,
Just quick execution with an actual design, not a 4-5 second designed scheme, just quick execution with YAC.
That is what this offensive roster reflects currently, but this OL is far from average.
