Why does the NFL feel the need to have such cringe-worthy pre-game entertainment? That bit on Fox where the guy was doing the Madden impersonation was the most embarrassing, pathetic thing I've ever seen. None of the other sports feel the need to resort to such clown antics.

Anyways, this really has nothing to do with the games today, but still I'd love to hear someone try to defend that nonsense.

Where have you been the past few years? I missed the segment but I can only assume that was "Frank Caliendo" your talking about. He's been doing these segments for a while also impersonating the likes of Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, and Terry Bradshaw. He's considered to be one of the better impersonators these days and is actually quite enjoyable to watch. His Bush impresonation is problly his best.

Haven't seen him do Bush; hardly ground-breaking territory imitating Dubya. I've tried not to watch pre-game shows and today reminded me why.

To each his own but he's become a pretty popular comedian soley based on his impersonations. He's made the rounds on all the late night shows and then ofcourse the fox gig. ******** or not, it works obviously...because from the best I can remember they've been doing this gig going on 3 years now.

I find him entertaining myself and he adds a nice touch to the usually boring and repetive discussions on teams, personell, predictions, etc...etc..

Jim Rome has been around for a while. That doesn't make him a worthwhile journalist.

Your basing this guy's legitimacy as a comedian based on one skit you saw during the pregame show...take a prozac and let it go.

As for Jim Rome, love em or hate em..he must be doing something right...I on the one hand cant stand the guy but atleast I've had a few years of listening to his garbage to come to that conclusion.

The real pregame embarassment is the way Emmit Smith studders and smiles all day on ESPN's NFL countdown. Looks like a bad pickup for ESPN

Tiki Barber isn't much better. He's got to be the worst at banter there is...just sits there witth that huge silly grin on his face while the other guys are chatting it up. He only speaks when spoken to, then again..it's really better that way.

Notice I said, and I quote myself...
Tiki Barber isn't much better than Emmit

Obviously this implies he has a leg up on Emmit to some degree. Regardless Barber and Emmit are pretty much in the same suck league when it comes to being an anaylst.

Guys I see having potential NFL media careers good bad or indifferent

Someone is going to hire Warren Sapp when he retires. I'm not sold that works.

Tom Brady has a mega career post NFL -

Rodney Harrison will have a post NFL career job in league. He's very articulate and blunt

Dat Dude has no future

Family probably precludes but Drew Bledsoe could be next Troy Aikman if he's not back in 2007. Who thought Aikman would be so good?

Bill Bellicheck will hit fort knox if he calls it a day, his insight would be priceless on TV, and he has a hidden personality.

I don't see Peyton Manning in the media when he retires

Bill Romanowski would be great on TV

Bill Cowher will never coach again.

Whatever happened to Lincoln Kennedy?

Yea, because TNT's NBA presentation with Barkley, is some real Algonquin Round Table material.

Neither is 'yea,' but good try. Who said anything about Barkley?
