I liked Mitchell coming out of USF but he got drafted by a team (Cleveland) that hasn't developed a WR properly since Webster Slaughter. He could surprise and also had Benford not got hurt earlier this week he'd be another guy I feel like could sneak onto the 53 as well.

Nice.

Only real changes I'd make is Lawerence for Dunbar and take off Reed for a 6th receiver (coale, beasley, or benford).

I like Mitchell a lot and have high hopes for him.. I think aside from Dez he is the most physically gifted WR on the roster right now.

He is also a very physical player so I think he could fit in somewhere somehow on special teams and be more effective than the other guys competing for that 5th/6th spot.

I debated Lawrence vs. Dunbar a lot but I think it is going to come down to special teams and Dunbar made some big hits last year and also had some nice returns.. Lawrence could take his spot no doubt.

And as for Reed vs a 6th receiver that was another thing I debated.. But after reading Broaddus's evaluation of the rookie camp it seemed that Reed really stood out.. Reed will contribute on special teams no doubt and if he carries his impressive play into training camp I think it will be difficult not to keep him around.

With the new defense and what I have heard about the special teams coach I think they want as many Linebackers/Safeties as they can get and that is why I have the extra safety and the extra linebacker rather than a 6th WR and 4th RB

That's exactly what I would have said. I'd have Coale and Beasley and no Carlton Mitchell. We'll probably have more than 23 offensive players, total. Might squeeze another interior OL in there at the expense of one of the safeties (Allen or Hamilton), too, but I'm not sure who. Kowalski? Arkin? Though 9 OLs is ok if 7 or so of them can play more than one position.

I do think a blocking TE can knock Vickers off this roster.

I don't see how cook doesn't make the team and killer. I don't think they will carry that many TE's or LB's 8 LB's is a lot to carry I could see them going 6 deep there and only 3-4 deep at TE which opens up room for Cook and Killer and Vickers.

I have the 4th TE there as a FB/TE hybrid I think he is here for blocking purposes if he doesn't make it Vickers will.. 8 LB's is a lot to carry but I think that this ST coach and DC want a lot of LB's who can run and hit and play physical

Safety is going to be an interesting battle because I think Hamilton is going to play great in camp and possibly outplay Johnson and Wilcox neither of those 2 will get cut which leaves Allen but I don't see him getting cut either just because he seems to have a lot of coaches in his corner

You can't get rid if a guy like Cook who can play almost every position on the line. Also I don't see how they only go with 3 guards they've never done that. So while it would be great to keep 4 TE's 8 LB's I just don't think they will go that thin at other positions like the interior line. They may even keep an extra Safety like McCray or let Allen go in place of McCray because he can play SP. I think Danny Coale makes the team as well.

I think they only go 5 LB's maybe 6 at the most if they go 5 I see it playing out like this:

Carter
Lee
Holloman
Durrant or Magee
Sims or Magee

I think if they go with 5 I think one of the 2 vets get cut if they feel like one of the young guys can handle the backup role which may not happen. They may feel confident with the 2 vets who are still young and can play ST and have been solid starters in the league. But looking at this I think Holloman wins the other LB spot and starts with Lee and Carter

you could be right.. I don't see any way Durant gets cut though.

I think the same about Sims and they are both still young productive guys who can play ball. So I think the only going guy who makes it will be Holloman. But that frees up room for the oline also I can see them only going 3 deep at the tackle and the 3rd Tackle would be the swing tackle freeing up another spot and I also think it's a possibility they go 4 deep at DE and maybe go 5 deep at DT or 6 deep at safety. There is a lot of flexibility with this team as I see it. The only time I see them pulling the FB off the field is when they go to the 12 package other then that I just don't see a reason for them to keep more then 3 TE's you will already have a tough time getting the 3 on the field at the same time so sense in keeping 4.

Beasley might have a chance. I saw an interview of him the other day, he's gotten bigger this offseason.

If Hamilton is legit, I wonder who's more on the bubble between Allen and Mccray. I think we're going to have better special teams players this year so I think it might be Mccray.

Arkin, I act like he doesn't exist. Killer, it's been a year since we've seen him play so I have no expectations for him either.

I think we carry one less safety and LB, remove Carlton Mitchell, add Danny Coale, Cole Beasley, and Ryan Cook.

Other than that, it looks pretty spot-on. Good job.

I thought the news was that Albright was working at DE?

As far as the LB's 8 is a bit much, but I do think we'll keep more than 5. I also think Free is going to make the roster, cause Jerry can't let go.

I also think the team loves them some Danny McCray and he'll make the roster over Jakar, who may be a better prospect but probably won't offer the special teams ability that McCray does due to his size (he's about 30 lbs lighter than McCray).

Also, in the vein of Doug Free, I'd see Arkin sticking around even if he continues to do absolutely nothing.

I hope other players beat out Cook. He cannot run block and I think it's overly optimistic that he could play OT.

I don't see the point of Vickers if he is not going to be a regular part of the offense.

Hopefully, "Killa" shows something and makes the team.

agree in the sense LB is the spot above farthest from happening.

lee
carter
durant
holloman (as ST)
thats set

simms and/or magee

but we wont see 8 LB. Not when you can really only take 5 max on game days.
