Exactly, in my mind separation is separation, whether it happens horizontally or vertically. If a guy can get separation across the field, then why not downfield too?

Also, sending him downfield combats the horizontal bracket coverage he saw last year.

I think we've been doing Beasley wrong. Instead of breaks at 5 yards, he shouldn't break until 5-10 yards downfield. Then he can break in *all* directions, including comebacks.
