I want everyone to chime in what they think the cowboys will doing in the offseason as far as the secondary. Here's mine:

1. A veteran corner for the right money (Not top tier. But either Tracy Porter, Terrell Thomas, Richard Marshall, William Middleton)

2. Draft 2 corners in rounds 2-5 (Leonard Johnson, Dwight Bentley, Stephen Gilmore, Brandon Boykin. All rumored to be liked by coaching staff)

3. Draft 1 safety in between rounds 2-4 to compete with Barry Church (Barron if he falls, Harrison Smith, George Iloka)

Mike Jenkins at left CB, Alan Ball at SS, FS, and right-CB.

Im trying to be serious :) thought this would be fun since everyone has predictions about everything

CB - Mike Jenkins
FS - Tyvone Branch
SS - Gerald Sensabaugh
CB - Janoris Jenkins

CB - Orlando Scandrick Nickle CB
CB - Dwight Bentley (R) Dime CB

CB- Mike Jenkins
CB- Courtland Finnegan
CB- Orlando Scandrick
CB- J. Hosley (VT)

S- Gerald Sensabaugh
S- Abe Elam

Terrelle Thomas and a fairly high pick (2-4rth rd)

Elam re-signed.

I would spend some serious free agent money this off season.

I would secure in the next two to three weeks, the services of Laurent Robinson, and Anthony Spencer.

Lack of adjustments in the secondary, has to be overcome. So Terence Newman, Josh Elam, and Frank Walker have to be replaced.

With a new contract for Orlando Scandrick, I think he will be the cover piece for cornerback. That will allow for a tone down at approach levels, and a tendency to go into the draft with intent of securing a young developer with good talent there.

Myself, without hesitations, I would fire off cap space and put both Cortland Finnegan and Tyvon Branch on the roster, and field a strong, adaptive secondary from the start of this next season.

What Dallas, based on previous history, will likely end up doing, is just starting Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick. They will resign Alan Ball and use Barry Church to fill need. A splash will be added in the draft, but the sewing of a new patch on old cloth just won't change the fabric back in the secondary.

I would put an actually strong group back there, with Finnegan and Branch added to Jenkins and Sensabaugh. That adds both physicality, stronger leadership, and speed to adjust and cover larger areas in the secondary.

That would solve the secondary problem, as Scandrick would serve as the third cornerback, and both Ball and Church would round out game day wear and package demands.

Since draft was invested in last year's draft at the offensive line, that probably covers a general improvement there. But not yet elevate play in it's interior.

The third area of need, is plain and simply...pass rush. To improve here, either a Mario Williams, or nose tackle such as Paul Soliai, Miami, or even Sione Pouha with the Jets, would be needed. That would move Jay Ratliff out to defensive end and add to a pass rush.

Outside of Coples in the draft, a defined pass rush talent doesn't look to be added to the Cowboy lineup without some lower picks and development.

I would make the payments and add Mario Williams with Finnegan and Branch. That would be my three major upgrades via free agency. I would then go to the draft to target upgrade of depth and future starters for the roster.

My first three targets in the draft, would be to add to a picture of three and dominant players for G/C, defensive line, and cornerback. The order of selection would depend purely upon available talent at that pick and remaining need of those three. I would then use the entire remainder of the draft to pickup quality talent to add at the strongest addition to overall roster. The top of the draft would purely target and bring in depth for the OL, DL, and CB...

Mike jenkins
Dre Kirkpatrick
Sensebaugh
Barry church or Michael griffin if he becomes available

Scandrick Nickel corner until mike gets hurt which it seems he always does

Most likely. Maybe Michael Griffin at S, but S was not a weakness.
