My seventy-year-old mom, lifelong Cowboys fan, has decided to watch the Texans this year. I live near Waco, and I know more fans of other teams than Cowboys fans.

5-12

Worst possible scenario…8-9 and we have something like the 14th and 26th picks.

Same as last year 7-10.
But not same o same o. There's hope in the air. I'm willing to endure.

Right now as of this post, 64.7% predict some kind of losing record.
We won't go into how ridiculous the 17-0 votes are, or the guys thinking they'll lose out.

I put 8-9. I do think they'll win 8 or so.

Hoping for as little as possible for the draft. We'll probably find a way to go 8-9
I don't get that statement some of y'all are just haters you hate your own team that you hope we don't get much from the draft you guys want to be so right about the train wreck you think is going to happen that this team is going to win under seven games this year even if they're healthy that you want them to fail i've never seen a fan base do this that's a horrible take...

Never wish for tanking ever The draft doesn't matter only the regular season matters and that's winning as many games as you can win for the fan base because it always gives you a shot...

I I've never understood a fan base we haven't even played game one and you want them to tank that's her hoping for as little as possible I don't get that that's the worst fan take I've ever heard we haven't even played 1 game yet..

So you're saying we can win 7 games losing most of our core players for the year I mean a record amount of injuries including the quarterback And somehow you believe our healthy team can only win 7 games when our backups pretty much won seven games I mean how is that even possible in your mind..

Please don't say it's the schedule the straight the schedule comes from what teams did last year not this year... Prescott has never had a losing season when he's been healthy and played more than 13 games...

They've added a better number two receiver starting the season probably with a better offensive line that depends on a lot of things but Booker has to be an upgrade early he's healthy and he's young he's not washed That makes the rest of the receiving group deeper having a better number two and then I believe the linebacker room is deeper and regardless that we lost Parsons or not I think we have a good group and we have no lame duck coaches...

So let me understand how you think our backups won seven games but our healthy team if they stay healthy and we're getting guys back after Week 4 that we're only going to win 7 games when's the last time that happened the only time we've ever Had losing seasons is when there was a record amount in injuries. Look at 2020 and 2024 but look at the three seasons in between there..

There allowed your opinion but I just don't get it I don't understand the only seven games if we're lucky and some people are already hoping for tanking they're looking forward to the draft in the season as it started yet this fan base is just terrible and I don't care what Jerry Jones did to you this is about the team the logo the players and there are a lot of good players on that team right now hungry to play...

Regardless of what happens tonight they're already predicted to lose this game that's not a big deal it's just one game..

But you play 17 games because of the law of averages and this team even though it's unproven right now as they start the season tonight is better than last year's team in my opinion in all phases except for Parsons being missing....

Clark is going to be a great addition to the interior DL and that should also help the LBs. Run stopping should improve, yes. He also seems like a solid leader, which is desperately needed on this unit.

But to me, the pass rush has been weakened more than the run defense has been improved. And a good pass rush hides the back of our defense, which is very questionable--at least until Diggs gets up to speed.
Unless EZ pans out.

If we win more I'm not gonna be surprised. My thinking is this;
Almost complete turnover on the staff.
Something like 30% turnover on the players.
Offensive line with a rookie guard (very talented) LT didn't practice in training camp and had a disappointing rookie season.
Defensive line lost great pass rusher but added a dang good DT. Might average out.
Questions in the corner back group
LB group new additions but Flus is good coach
I looked at the schedule came up with 7-10
RB group isn't impressive and we're calling ourselves a running team?
We arent through in our rebuilding like where we're heading and the off season we had. I'm very hopeful but practical

I get it but the turnover has to include the fact that we're getting a lot of healthy players back that didn't play last year and most of this is positive not to have a lame duck coaching staff and the first year Zimmer that wasn't going to be here that those are all negatives we should be replacing them with positives you're talking about the unknown and I'm saying that just looking at what was here and what's here now it looks like an improvement...

Either way it's gonna be a fun season best in a long while I suspect

I Guess from the aspect is it be the hardest season to judge in a long time, like we don't know how it's all going to come together, there's a lot of mystery...
