my prediction: CHAMPIONSHIP! :)

Let's hope so. I don't think we'll win it this year, (don't get me wrong, I want one just as much as the next guy), but I do think that we'll win a playoff game or two and lose in the NFC Championship. Superbowl win will come in the next 2-4 years.

Playoff victory and more or BUST!...My prediction:

if no playoff win there will be chaos in dallas Nation. Playoff victory or more would mean romo made it over the hump, and our young players are what we thought they would be. The league will be scared to say the least.

I am always way off on predictions. With THAT being said, I'll say 0-16...

If you really look at my projected numbers, I'm not being too much of a homer.

You're looking at about 430 yards of total offense per game, about 29 points per game, with 60 sacks and 18 picks by our defense. I think our corners are setup to be better with interceptions this year, Ware won't break the sack record, but teams will be so busy keeping up with him that Ratliff and Spencer will have big years along with him. Igor will get a few sacks.

Witten will get his 900 yards this year, and RW11 and Felix the Cat will get 1,000+. The only reason I have RW11 getting as much yards as I gave him is because I think this year he'll be spectacular after the catch, I don't see too many 40+yd passing plays.

Romo will throw 38 TD's because after week 6 or 7, teams will fear our running so much that Romo can play catch all day with Rice and Beans, RW11, Austin, and Crayton.

Maybe I'm just fooling myself. Who knows.

430 yards of offense a game is a bit high, as is 29 points a game. The 60 sacks wouldn't be crazy, considering we had more than that last year.. but 18 picks? If that happens, I'll be ecstatic.

Stats from last year in bold. (Pulled from NFL.com)

TOTAL OFFENSIVE YARDS 5512
Mine is listed at 6894, 1382yds difference. T.O. had - IIRC - 6 games with under 50 yards (wasted space on the field). Add the healthy Felix Jones, Bennett having matured a little and more comfortable in his role, RW11 knowing the playbook, chemistry, all mixed with a (cross our fingers) healthy Miles Austin, and I think that an extra 86 yards per game is feasible.

SACKS 59
Mine is listed at 60. Whoa. I'm way off center here.

POINTS PER GAME 26.6 (Not direct from NFL.com, added TDs in the year + FGs divided by 16)
I'm seeing us around 30. Again, way off the mark here too. That extra 86 yards per game couldn't POSSIBLY bring in another field goal a game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing I can see you possibly giggling at is Interceptions. Sorry, but if Newman stays healthy, Jenkins is improving like reporters from training camp are saying he is, and Scandrick is as good as he was last year, then I think we can expect more interceptions.

Also, for these stats from last year, please remember we had Brad Johnson play 3 games, in which everyone on our offense was pretty much rendered useless.

You may be right on, who knows, but the total offense stat definitely is drinking the Kool-aid. You lost a 1000 yard receiver, and you are going to go up by 1300 yards. I agree with you about Felix Jones, and your running game will likely get a good boost in production. But your passing game is at best be the same, I cant see how you can add production here.

Also I think 38/13 for TR is a bit homerish. You add 12 TDs to last year, at the same time you subtract one INT. His career ratio is 86/41 so just around 50%, so if you honestly believe in 38 TD's then you ought to have his INTs right around 19 maybe 17-18 since he was obviously forcing some balls to TO last year.

kudos for putting numbers out there.

Good post. Excellent points.
I'll take 38/19 in a heartbeat. Those are MVP type numbers.

Some may think 19 is a little high, but I don't give INT's the same negative wieghting as most.

To me it's all relative to the number of positive plays a QB makes including TD's of course.

No way will we get 19 total sacks from Ratliff and Olshansky. If we can get a combined 11 from then I'll be happy...and assume that about 8 of them came from Rat.

Other than that I think you could be right with pretty much everything.

The only reason I have them with that many is because Ware and Spencer will be getting lots of attention from the offensive line.

True, but Olshansky isn't going to be on the field in a lot of pass-rush situations, and Ratliff is going to get doubled by centers and guards.

Roy Williams will break Irvins record

I don't think that this offense is lopsided enough for any one player to break a record.
