Predict this weeks game

i think this week is all about the trenches.. unfortunately i don't think our offensive line matches up well with Tampa's front 4.

Michael Bennett vs. Free / Smith = push

Gerald McCoy vs. our center and guards = advantage Tampa

Roy Miller vs. our center and guards = advantage Tampa

Adrian Clayton vs. Free / Smith = advantage Dallas

with that being said i predict a low scoring game from both sides. Romo will have constant pressure up the middle all game and hurry a bunch of his throws. I'm anxious to see how Garrett adjusts..

Dallas 16
Tampa Bay 20

We also thought our oline would get dominated by detroit last year... and we dominated for nearly 3 quarters until romo fell apart.

27 Dallas

17 Bucs(Late garbage TD score)

Dez goes off..... 11 Catches 115 yards 2 Td's

If we come out and make a statement, that almost guarantees a loss the next week against chicago. It's the way this team has been forever now. We come out and have a statement game and look great. The next week we play like crap.

Time will tell

The praise that Tampa is getting this week from the media and on here is unbelievable to me. Yes, they are slightly better I guess than last year but they aren't anything I'm afraid of. They scored all their TD's except for the last one off of Eli's interceptions. There's nothing offensively or defensively that scares me about Tampa. Once Eli settled in Tampa stopped scoring hmmm. Unless Romo has a game Eli's first half that I don't see Tampa winning this game or being very close.

That's what everyone including myself thought of Seattle.

No they didn't. Not in the way I described Tampa. People assumed we'd win based off of what we did and what Seattle did based on Week 1. What I'm talking about this perception that Tampa is a really good team. No one was describing Seattle as a really good team leading up to that game.

Just can't give Dallas a nod on this one. Tampa looked good this year until 4th quarter last week. Dallas up then down, home openers have not been on their side.

Tampa 20 Dallas 17, last minute FG....

This is what I'm talking about. They've looked about as good as we've looked this season.

This is HORRIBLE LOGIC. They played tough against the Giants, but they still lost and guess what? WE BEAT THE GIANTS. We actually won our home opener last year so I don't see your point there.

this is going to be a close game. possibly a 3 pt or less difference. i think we'll pull it out at the end but the team better come ready to play physical football. if they come out like some wussies again then we'll lose. tampa is a pretty good team that plays hard.

You can't just look at who beat who and the like. As being a former "pretty heavy" gambler, you look at match-ups, trends, injuries, weather (when it applies), etc, etc.

Dallas is not exactly world-beaters on home openers. They are 6-6 since 2000. If I were to put correlations and numbers into an algorithm, it would come out with Dallas winning this one, it focuses on trends and match-ups mostly.

Nothing is a guarantee though, the players still have to show up and play, it doesn't take into account mentalities and coaching. That said, the Cowboys have a recent history of playing at the highest level, then looking like Iowa St. the next week, so all signs point to a convincing win this Sunday, but I would not bet on it :)

After analyzing this game with my usual care toward statistics, schemes, and trend analysis, I pick Dallas by a crapload.

Amazing how predictions look after a loss as opposed to after a win. As one poster pointed out earlier, for Tampa this is the second game in back-to-back road games for them. That puts them at a disadvantage. So while I am a little down on the team right now, I think they'll pull this one out by a reasonable margin: 23-14 Cowboys.
