Predictability on Offense

I know this is something that has been touched on but I just feel like we are very predictable on offense. Not only in play distribution but when/where we are running and where the first read is on passing downs.

We have heard before how teams knew exactly what we were doing. Today, it seemed like the Bears knew which gaps to shoot against the run and when to peel back. When they did stay back they seemed to continually be shading towards Romo's first read.

Is this a Jason Garret play calling/play design problem? Is it a matter of Romo staring down his reciever? Is it a combination of things?

Or am I imagining this all together?

This is something also I noticed I was art home guessing the next play.

Jason Garrett.

Nothing more needs to be said.

I thought it was wayyy too much passing. Especially in the 2nd half of the game. It was almost like every play was a pass. Garrett just gives up on the run after it doesn't work. You have to give your backs a chance to get into the game and get in a rhythm and he doesn't do that.

The Cowboys playbook seems competent, but Garrett has no feel for which play should be called. Not a good game day play caller at all.

We pass entirely too much. We had 32 passes to 17 rush attempts at the end of the 3rd quarter. We went a long stretch with passing on every 1st down as well.

Every time we get a 2nd and 10+ yards, we automatically go to the shotgun...which we only ran the ball out of once today which was a carry for negative yards.

So when we see shotgun, they know that it's a pass and they can pin our ears back. We don't keep defense's honest and we've thrown the ball 99 times so far in the first 2 games.

I think he's the worst Offensive Coordinator in the NFL.

Agree.

We ignore the run for long stretches in a 3 point game.

The TD drive came on a drive where we ran it then play actioned twice out of the I formation for nice long gains down the field. Basic football.

Yeah Garrett definately has no feel for the game. When your moving the ball with the pass and have the defense on the rope, don't install the wildcat to give them a breather and a chance to regroup. Keep attacking and go deep rather than the wildcat.

Garrett needs to mix it up. Everyone know when he is going to pass and when he is running the ball and to who.

And for god sakes let the offense get into Rhythm. When were about to score to call plays that haven't worked or plays that the offense is not used to seeing. Garrett is not fooling anyone with his exotic formations. Only people that gets into trouble is our offense and that is because its an exotic formation and they haven't had time to learn it.

Garrett needs to go back to what worked for us in 2007. WE need to have Romo doing play action more often and installing that as a major part of our offense. Mix the run with the pass and use plays that keep the defense guessing. Why on earth is he so damn predictable? She doesn't know anything about football but yet she can sense what the Cowboys was gonna do, whether its a run play or a pass.

Get rid of Garrett. He sucks.

Garrett's inability to continue to strengthen his leadership on the offensive side of the ball will come to a head very soon if we continue to put this type of offensive effort on the field. It's not a talent issue. We have all the talent imaginable. It falls back to coaching, coordination, preparation.. etc. All roads lead back to Garrett.

Predictability is running the ball on short yardage. I can live with predictability if execution is good.

Jason Garrett's offense = DUMBNESS.

This offensive system sucks. I feel like this offense isn't tailored around Romo and his skills the way it is for Peyton and Brees. When watching this offense, I feel like Romo is just a very good bus driver...in fact, I'll call him a limo driver because he's more than a bus driver, slightly fancier.

You will not win in the NFL throwing the ball 51 times.

It is so frustrating watching Dallas waste Felix Jones. He doesn't get the ball nearly enough, and when he got it today, there was no where to run.

Jones could be a workhorse in a zone blocking scheme, and he would hang huge rushing numbers on other teams.

I think it is time to start Felix. Maybe by starting him and if he gets off to a good start he will get more touches.

It's because he has no feel for the game. He's so heady that it hurts him. It's football, not science. He lacks the ability to account for defensive players making plays or doing anything other than what he expects.

THIS IS FOOTBALL. TAKE OF THE COLLARED SHIRT, UNCROSS YOUR LEGS, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SNAPSHOTS, AND HAVE A LITTLE FIRE.

The guy is a freakin princess and I can't stand it anymore.

The Bears shut our running game down, go look at the game stats. We finished with a 1.8 yards per attempt average...

INTs, penalties and 1 fumble killed our drives not the play calling. Romo killed a few drives with bad throws on 3rd down...

We didn't even punt in the first half.

Some bad decesions by Wade(1st onside kick) and our D's lack of creating turnovers or creating good field position for the offense cost us this game, not Garrett's play calling.
