The historically proven number for over-working a RB is in the 370 carries/year area. That's about 23 carries per game.

Zeke's career average is 22.56 but since he missed 6 games that was only 242 for last season despite an average of 24.2 per game.

His catches add 2 32 touches per game for his career.

Obviously it would be more accurate to consider total touches and total snaps played but the comparison numbers are not well known to us as fans.

Keeping in mind that E, F, and G would shatter the record for attempts in a season... and that 20 per game routinely leads the league... my guess is that the team would be perfectly fine with B.

Zeke should run less and catch more. Let someone else take some pounding. We might actually want a relatively fresh RB in the playoffs someday.

So here are a few relevant numbers.

-Last season only one back (Bell) averaged 20 carries per game (20.01)
-Every other back in the NFL averaged less than 20
-The lead back for a typical team? About 14 carries per game

Sounds right.

I swear every time Zeke was rested for a series 5 posters would whine to holy hell in the game day threads.

Two realities:
-It’s a passing league
-All teams have some rotation of backs. All of them.

Starting RBs in the NFL don’t play more than 80% of downs.

Fans *seriously* over-estimate how many times a RB can tote the rock over a 16 game season.
