We all know Jerry likes to make the Cowboys the center of attention in the NFL media.

What better time is there than the day before game 1 of the season to extend his franchise QB.

I've got a feeling we'll be seeing this announced tomorrow:

5 year extension worth $167.5 million/$113 million guaranteed.

2019 Cap Hit - $9.5 million
2020 Cap Hit - $22 million
2021 Cap Hit - $33 million
2022 Cap Hit - $34 million
2023 Cap Hit - $34 million (Potential out $19 cap savings/$15 dead money)
2024 Cap Hit - $35 million ($35 cap savings)

We need to lock him up before the season starts. That way we just need to get Cooper and Byron next off-season as the bigger contracts to get done. Maliek Collins could get a boost as well if he stays healthy this year but I feel they will make him a 1 year prove it again deal.

I think it gets announced Saturday as well. I don't think Dak's wants to play very long without a new contract.

$138 million, $123 guaranteed. 4 years., he will outperform Jared Goff's contract. Just an opinion. Dak is in the same ballpark as Goff, we all need to face it. He's gonna be a very rich man with lots of endorsements for quite awhile.

Not a bad read but I am hoping more team friendly up front, reneg towards the end if needed.

113 million Guaranteed for Dak? lol Don't think even Jerry is that Drunk or Stupid!

Ya don't think so look for a very team friendly deal if in fact one is made.

He doesn't want to but......tick tock tick tock reality knocking on the door Dak.....you got what it takes to demand this kinda of contract come the end of the season????
Dak will take a Dalton deal today if one is even announced.......
And Dak being the King of Public relations will say at the press conference.....I accepted it for the team....lol

Honestly don’t care how much Dak gets.

I am hoping we sign him and feel he is going to continue to develop into a great QB!

Dak ain’t getting a new contract until 2020, he likes playing under pressure.

If I was a Philly fan I would be praising Dak here as the second coming of Dan Marino 24/7......heck they even has a 40 million collection fund to get Dak paid and stay with the Cowboys!
Now why is that?????

I long for the heady days of Feb 2019, when most here were in agreement that Dak’s extension shouldn’t/wouldn’t pay him more than $22-$24mil per, but that he might get as much as — gasp! — $27-$28mil per.

Jerry wants this deal done asap...before $40mil per becomes the new standard.

I had 5-years, $165 million in the 'guess the Dak deal' company pool!

Probably a 6 year extension, around $32 mill per season...………….that seems to be the going rate for young QBs

As for the guaranteed money, it will be more than the $110 Goff signed for...………...I'm guessing around $120

The "Dak sucks" crowd are going to lose their chit:laugh:

Prescott should get just a little less than Jared Goff, since Goff already took his team to a SB. But, since the Cowboys prefer longer term deals, Prescott is going to ask for more.

6 years, $200M is my prediction - with the last 2 seasons at $37M each. 1st 4 years, $126 = $31.5M per season. $40M signing bonus.
