No way CeeDee is going to miss out on any paydays. Those game checks have way too many zeros on them.
I don’t see him reporting without an extension. A new contract that resets the market or comes close to it will pay for any missed game checks. He knows the Joneses will eventually cave. They have with all their big name players that have held out. We won’t be seeing CeeDee until a deal is reached.

Can you think of a star player for the Cowboys that held out for a new contract and didn’t get it? I can’t recall any star player for the Cowboys ending a hold out without a contract extension to avoid missing game checks. Emmitt Smith held out at the beginning of the 93 season for two games and ended up getting paid. When Dez was franchised he threatened to hold out and ended up getting paid. Zeke held out of training camp and ended up getting paid. Zack held out last summer and despite Jerry saying he wasn’t going to renegotiate his deal, he ended up paying him.

Dak is undoubtedly going to have his best year here.

Probably average 40-45 attempts per game.....Dan Fouts, eat your heart out.
we have no run game so if he throws 40+ a game he will have triple digit INT's....not a good look on his resume

Do you think it was on his mind all those years after his injury? If not, why would he worry about that now?

By the way, big dog cowboy is a robot.
Because he got his contract, he was safe money wise these past few years

Dak more than likely has a big insurance policy regarding injury. Probably a lot of players have that.

Lol if that was the case, players like Lamb wouldn't be holding out. Injuries on the last year of their contract is definitely on their minds

Lamb is holding out for money. You think when Emmitt held out it was because he was worried about getting injured?

Question....

Is Jerry's "all in" comments based on him leading the way for Front Offices to devalue the QB position?

He seems to be the head Honcho in the league...is it up to him to set the standard?

Im sure this can be ridiculed....but it also makes sense.

If the entire league is held hostage by QB rates....it takes the top dawgs to set the bar.

NFL is hard capped...so I dont knot if I believe this is a thing...but it could be.

1) Increasing scrutiny from fans about QB pay

2) Dak, France seem to have rubbed the Jones's the wrong way

Aikman's words seem to ease the blow for the Cowboys, though....so I dont know.

I dont see a certain small group of owners being able to devalue the QB in a hard cap. Maybe you can try...but its the same rules for every team.

We've done our best when we throw under 30 and rush over 20....no telling what we'll see this year

I want them to come out and say, by mutual agreement, Dak will play out this season. So there will be no distractions With the contract talk.
They don’t even need to say mutual agreement. But use some term like that.

Time to focus on football.

They likely already knew all the general details of a successful or unsuccessful contract agreement (with regards to numbers) before free agency. This is a publicity stunt whether they sign him or do not. This keeps the media bringing the topic up all the time…

If I was in Dak’s shoes, I would have already quietly asked for a trade to one of a few teams. And if not granted, I would play out this year with the idea this is my last rodeo in Dallas.

I’m not sure that’s what will happen but getting a new address would be my goal if I was Dak, especially if winning a ring is a serious goal. Sometimes the boats and bridges are too burned to continue.
Who could Dak go to that could get him a ring. Mostly all the good teams/contenders have a QB in place. I can't really think of one off the top of my head.

That’s what players think of the Dallas Cowboys. If you want a ring, don’t go there.

Off the top of my head are three teams that have pretty good rosters but not a great QB - Seattle, Pitts, and New Orleans. Maybe Minn too. I know the Vikes drafted JJ McCarthy but I have serious doubts about him.

I agree and I will be disappointed for Dak if stays here where he’ll never get a ring.
