the year was 2014, the Cowboys got destroyed opening weekend by the niners. The next day all the "Experts," were saying how we may possibly have the worst defense in league history and we would be lucky to win 2 games all season. They promptly reeled of 6 wins in a row, including a win in SEattle that I happened to attend.

Yea, the experts know so much, they should be making some easy money this weekend by betting everything they own on the Bucs.

Can't always go by game 1 or even game 2. That has been proven over and over time and time again.
However, we have a lot of self proclaimed experts that say other wise.

I do not know what to expect, so I will give it 4 to 6 games. Though I am more positive than negative we can compete for the division title.

The experts on TV are usually wrong about everything

the only predictions they make that come through are predictions anyone would make such as the Chiefs and The Bucs may repeat in the sb

when it comes to Dallas? they'll go full on 0-17 or 17-0 whichever one gets clicks and views

Dallas is a about to get embarrassed on national TV. Now, I don't think that's indicative of their entire season. It's just one game.

I predict Cowboys win and on Friday people will say Dak still has not beaten a team with a winning record as Tampa will be 0-1 lol

I'm optimistic about the season overall but this is a really tough opening draw and I can't realistically seeing the Cowboys winning this one. I can't rule it out of course, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if they somehow managed a win.

Now if these "experts" said the Cowboys were going 15-2 and winning the SB, the people complaining about them would suddenly be singing their praises.

I don't care about "experts" who, as some have said, are generally talking heads looking for a reaction. I do, however, look at franchises that demonstrate consistency. Expecting a well-run franchise to suddenly become chaotic, or vice versa, is often a risky bet. Not impossible, but unlikely.

If they leave it all on the field and take them to the wire and lose...I am pissed but will be ok with that...I know its a tall order but we have talent and I expect our pro's to go after thier pro's...we can win this game. The GM wants to show me he will do anything, then hold this Coaching staff accountable for every game starting with this one.....No exuces no.."they are a great team" no "its a process" they need to compete and win or be in a position to win or get held accountable for it.

I agree, we not just playing a good team we are playing the SB champs. They are at home and no doubt will have their banner ceremony leading up the game and all the hoopla that goes with it. Tampa sure as hell does not want to walk off with a loss. So I do get how tough this game is. However I do see the talent on this offense and know if they play up to their ability as a team they can win. Defense is still a question mark but I have to say I like a lot of the pieces being put in place and feel they should be much better than last season. You should know by now I do not concede any game nor do I under play any game.

Agreed. A win not probable but certainly is possible. We shall see!

Because they all speak into an echo chamber and they are full of hot air. So called experts are not experts in the true sense of the word. . . its a title they are given bit in reality its just a glorified Commentator. . . because its impossible to predict the future . . .

Here's an Example of a "So-Called Expert" being exposed for his Hipocrasy at the 5:08 mark

I'm sitting back, arms crossed expecting to see the appropriate return on investment from this offense. No excuses. The defense I can see having some issues with arguably one of - if not the best - offense in the league. But no excuses for the offense, move the ball and score or you're underachievers, particularly the offensive line and running back. They all need to re-establish past reputation as one of the league's best and justify what's been invested there.

I don't think we will be hammered. I see us playing well in the large part before going down by around 10 points. I do think the Bucs are overrated. You would think they had the '85 Bears defense the way some are banging on about them. E.g., They lose to the Packers if King was healthy rather than continually fluffing his lines on defense or if their All Pro left tackle had played.

They Bucs won't win the Superbowl this season. It worked out for them last season in a big way. Brees was playing with an injury and the Chiefs didn't have any tackles in the Superbowl.

All I want is a win, it that happen because we win it 10-7 or 40 to 39 all I care about is the win.

This.... I include MM and KM in this also...Show me you can adjust and over come things with this talent do not throw your hands up because that front 7 can stop ISO 1 ....

My sentiments exactly. Plus we always have better seasons and make the playoffs when we lose the first game, lol. 2014, 2016, 2018, etc. I would love a win but I'm just hoping for a great, competitive effort, no dumb coaching decisions, and (especially with 70 likely out) NO INJURIES. If 70 can somehow go I'll feel significantly better about their chances.

Exactly, and don't start talking up guys like Suh and JPP because they're kicking your highly-paid players' *** on one side while a 2nd year player is shutting down your top-paid pass rusher. Win or lose I don't want to hear excuses afterwards. This team is incredibly top-heavy in their contracts and I want to see those players earning it.

There will be very few outside the Cowboy fan bubble picking the Cowboys to win. If they do pull off an upset it doesn’t mean the analyst were wrong. It’s why we still play the games.

But it wouldn’t be a bad play taking Dallas to cover. Any spread over 7 is considered very high. Only 3 spreads this week over 7. Two of them are 7 1/2 but the Lions and Bears are involved. I’ve rarely give up more than 7 in a NFL game .

This game could be over early but a late score or two when the games out of reach could cover the spread. Trash TD’s are common with late attempts at comebacks.
