TO suspension will be viewed as too harsh and dropped to 2 games, at that point he will be paid but not on the active roster or allowed to visit the facilities. If he has llingering injuries that the Eagles are responsible Im sure they would pay a third party to handle those off site.

the deal that i heard is TO will lose alot of money in incentives that he cannot achieve now that he will not "play" whether he is on bench, at home eating bon bons, or out finding some other qb's azz to kiss is another story.... he may get paid, but not for playing !

No one, not even an arbitrator, can force a team to play a player. The only thing the arbitrator can make a decision on is whether or not a player is paid or not which also includes pay back of any pro-rated signing bonus.

So, the only thing that will happen Friday is the arbitrator will decide how many games TO is to be paid for during the suspension. The only way TO steps on the field again this year is if the Eagles organization itself decides to let him either by letting him play for the Eagles or releasing him.

Right, the Eagles can't trade him. They can cut him, but that could hurt their chances if another NFC East team picks him up. T.O.s complaint is the suspension is too long, that he is losing money. So, if the team loses the arbitration, then T.O. gets paid more than he will be paid for now, but he still sits on the sideline and watches the guys in uniform.

AND, now the Eagles have players that are upset that T.O. isn't playing, and that causes dissension on the team that Reid has to deal with, on top of everything else. Reid was an expert when things were going right, but apparently is struggling when things are going wrong.

IMO Who cares!!!!!!!!! He won't play the rest of the year and won't be here next year.

I've been saying from the beginning that the final outcome will be mixed. Under the CBA, Philadelphia is within its rights to suspend Owens for the four games without pay and then inactivate him for the remainder of the season, but they cannot keep him from receiving any benefits that all other team members receive.

I don't know if NFL players receive a per diem, but if they do, Owens would need to receive his. Access to training facilities and medical staff is also something they cannot deny Owens if they offer it to all other members of the team.

If Philadelphia was smart, they'd suspend Owens for three games without pay and claim that locking him out of all team functions and access equates to a smaller punishment than the fourth game check, hence they'd skate under the "maximum" penalty under the CBA.
