Predictions on Wade's firing and Garrett as the interim

I predict Wade will be fired next week IF we get blown out in Green Bay and the players clearly mail it in like they did vs. Jacksonville. Jerry has put up with plenty already, but one thing he won't put up with is a team that has completely quit on its coach.

(Speaking of Jerry not putting up with a coach who has lost his players... I predict that we'll be very active in the offseason filling our positions of need via draft/FA, and the same fans kicking Jerry now will love him again. :laugh2: Call Jerry what you want, but I've never questioned his will to win. There's a reason him and Parcells had a good relationship and are still friends to this day.)

As for Wade's firing, Jerry's taking his time simply because he can. Still 9 games left. And let's face it: Jacksonville is the only game this season that our guys mailed it in from start to finish. They did mail it in for parts of the Giants game as well. So a 3rd straight week of lacking effort will be enough to make Jerry switch things up.

Anything short of a valiant, gutsy and comp effort from our guys in Green Bay, and Wade's a goner before our rematch with the Giants.

We'll likely be 1-7 when the switch happens. Jerry will hand the reins over to Jason Garrett and tell him, "Wade got 8 games, you're getting 8 games. Win me 5... and you'll be our Head Coach in 2011." He still might be hired if he wins just 4.

What I'm not going to predict is, who will be the interim DC? Campo? I don't know if Jerry would have the stones to promote Campo in front of a fan-base who vividly remembers Campo's horrific ascent to the HC gig and the 5-11 trifecta. So that leaves Herring or Pasqualoni. I honestly have no idea who would get the nod, not that it would particularly matter a whole lot.

Anyone else agree, particularly about Wade?

Trust me no one will be fired and it will be business as usual

I don't think Wade will get fired until the season is done. Jerry may hire a HC before the final game much like he did when BP was hired before Campo last season was over but I don't think it makes much sense to start firing anyone right now I would rather see any new HC be able to have the time to put their staff together and come in to evaluate current players.

Wade should have already been fired so if it hasn't happened by now it probably won't. If on the off chance it does happen after next weeks game then I think Pasqualoni (sp?) will be the interim DC, not Campo since we are running a 3-4. Campo was always a 4-3 guy.

We the fans are sick of what has been going on this year. half the seats were empty in the Stadium last game and don't think Jerry didn't notice. No butts in the seats means no snacks, beer and T-shirt sales on game day. That is money out of Jerry's pocket. He might feel the need to fire Wade to get fan interest back. Jerry may think that maybe people will come see the games to see how Garrett does if handed the keys. He has nothing to lose by firing Wade at this point.

We the fans should not be running the team. I don't want Jerry making major changes like this based on the peanut gallery. Bottom line is fans do not go when we are not winning they did not go when Landry was in his last 2 years they did not go when Jimmy was 1-15 that is just the fact of it. When this team wins people show up. Jerry could fire Wade tomorrow and the crowd is not going to get bigger.

I believe he already approached Garrett and was turned down. Just my gut.

Bingo but we are talking about JJ here.
at this stage even if we have no coaches at all we won't do worse

I'm 1/2 so far as I pat myself on the back... Wade's a goner.

Garrett will be handed the keys... get this team to fight, Jason, and the job is yours.

(to clarify, I have 0 sources and these are just predictions)

A thought ..

Garrett's contract is up at season-end. He might be dismissed early in favor of W. Wilson, Sherman or somebody on the outside. Houck may go.

But Wade is paid through next season. Maybe Pasqualoni will be named DC and inject some of his ideas the next eight weeks. Or maybe Wade steps back and says "I want to concentrate on this defense" without HC duties the next eight weeks while Pasqualoni or somebody else takes over as interim HC.

An outside guy like Gruden as interim coach (or even as consultant) is sexy but it's going to cost ya, and how much influence can he have?
