I predict Wade will be fired next week IF we get blown out in Green Bay and the players clearly mail it in like they did vs. Jacksonville. Jerry has put up with plenty already, but one thing he won't put up with is a team that has completely quit on its coach.
(Speaking of Jerry not putting up with a coach who has lost his players... I predict that we'll be very active in the offseason filling our positions of need via draft/FA, and the same fans kicking Jerry now will love him again. :laugh2: Call Jerry what you want, but I've never questioned his will to win. There's a reason him and Parcells had a good relationship and are still friends to this day.)
As for Wade's firing, Jerry's taking his time simply because he can. Still 9 games left. And let's face it: Jacksonville is the only game this season that our guys mailed it in from start to finish. They did mail it in for parts of the Giants game as well. So a 3rd straight week of lacking effort will be enough to make Jerry switch things up.
Anything short of a valiant, gutsy and comp effort from our guys in Green Bay, and Wade's a goner before our rematch with the Giants.
We'll likely be 1-7 when the switch happens. Jerry will hand the reins over to Jason Garrett and tell him, "Wade got 8 games, you're getting 8 games. Win me 5... and you'll be our Head Coach in 2011." He still might be hired if he wins just 4.
What I'm not going to predict is, who will be the interim DC? Campo? I don't know if Jerry would have the stones to promote Campo in front of a fan-base who vividly remembers Campo's horrific ascent to the HC gig and the 5-11 trifecta. So that leaves Herring or Pasqualoni. I honestly have no idea who would get the nod, not that it would particularly matter a whole lot.
Anyone else agree, particularly about Wade?
