You still dont get it.

You will.

When this team fails miserably with Schott. Drafts Manning.

And still fails.

You will get it then.
With Jerry in charge we probably don't even draft him. He doesn't believe in drafting qbs in the first round. That's why I say that Dak is a symptom of this organization. Jerry is the problem. In addition to Mahomes KC has a great hc. I can't even see Mahomes winning a title here with a coach like Garrett.

Death, taxes, and now this....2-3 years of Schottenheimer, followed by 6-7 years minimum of an over matched Plow Boy. Listening to The Fan 105.3 around noon, one of the hosts made a great point....he, like myself, was cheering like hell for Washington Saturday thinking a win by them would force an irate Booger to take this hire seriously....WRONG....the ONLY thing that will wake Booger up, is when/and if the Cowboys ever cease to be the #1 most valuable sports franchise....only then, will winning take precedence.
nothing is going to force Jerry to anything, as long as cowboys remain semi relevant. when cowboys are semi relevant, then both the yay sayers and nay sayers are engaged and cowboys get most attention. I think if we have a team that's around 10-7 or so, then jerry can just say, hey we are close. and get the media going. and that maximizes profits. maximizes money flowing into the cowboys and that's all jerry cares about. championships and actual football success is secondary

The merch part is easy. The other part is tougher simply because there are so many football fans that hate Dallas that they buy the tickets and watch the games just to watch them fail.

And honestly, watching Jerry squirm in embarrassment is just as much fun as getting a meaningless win in a lost season.
why is he squirming in embarassement? he got exactly what he wanted. just like you said, he wants both yay-sayers and nay-sayers engaged. if those who hate dallas watch and buy tickets, then cha ching, not only for Jerry, but owners of other teams.

With the DooDoo bowl going on this weekend, its a bad time to be a Cowboy fan.

I hope that stadium falls to the center of the earth today.

But the truth is the used car salesman will try sell us garbage and say its sunshine yet again. Problem is, if he does nothing again this offseason, everyone is powerless to do anything about it as other teams give us a beating. 2 teams in our division in the Championship game.....just goes without words.

I already prepared myself for continued post season futility as long as this quarterback's contract is active. So thats 4 years.

I guess I should also come to terms with the fact of no change as long as both Jerry OR Stephen are making the primary football decisions

Ouch.
Now that would even exceed the OP's negative 10 year outlook.

Cowboys!

Stop buying merch, going to games, and watching games.

Stop supporting a man that spits in your face constantly.
Good in theory, but how many have, and how many will. If they post that they have, they're full of it. They're still posting, which means, they're still hanging on. As long as they don't let go, they're one of us. We had a saying in my younger days, deny, till you die. There is no denying this.....all of us in this zone are fans.

Oh he will.

He sounds like Jerry now.

He was a culture changer when he came here. The culture changed him. THAT is how bad it is.
How many of you speak against your boss in public? Jimmy did, how did that work out? Micah will be a yes sir guy, until he's gone. I haven't had a boss in 8 years, feels pretty good, but when I did, I bit my tongue, from time to time, if i had too. Gotta pay the bills.

Jerry is not going to be in control of this team for another 10 years. We will see Booger Jr. well before then. I am not sure that's better or worse but it will be different.

Micah has the luxury of speaking out against his boss and having 31 teams offer him max money though lol

No disrespect but how do you know what Dak's work ethic is? How do you know if he does or doesn't want to learn a new system. Seems like Jerry and Dak are everyone's targets and, while I get it with Jerry, I don't understand why everyone thinks Dak isnt trying or couldn't care less about winning. They havent won anything but he was second in the MVP voting just last year. He didnt play well in the playoffs but nobody did
Let it go.

Winning is secondary for Jerry. Having Washington/Philly play in the NFCC just gives him a chance to say "look at the competition in our division" and bring fan expectations down.
Problem is other teams in our division keep improving. I don't see much improvement in the Dallas roster given the cap mess they will have after signing Micah. They're already 4.4 million over the cap for 2025.

They'll probably restructure Dak and CeeDee. But having 3 players take up 50% of your cap space is not a good strategy.

Jerry is going to die without seeing another NFC Championship game, and after 30 years of total control as owner/GM, it's really his fault.
