Dak had another efficient showing leading two scoring drives in three possessions capped with a 6 yard TD pass to TWill. He was 10-15 for 86 yards. The key play on scoring drive was an 8 yard slant to Gallup.

Defense looked strong as first team didn’t allow any points. Taco forced a turnover. And Awuzie with a spectacular interception.

The only concern was the status of Zack Martin who left early with a knee injury. There was no immediate update on his injury.

2017 draft is going to leave its mark on the defense this year. Taco should get 600 snaps and Awuzie will likely be CB1.

I still think Lewis is the #3 CB this year, I think once real games are being played he will show his value. Woods played over half the snaps last season and showed he belonged on an NFL field. His role this year VS last will likely be different as he will likely be used as a more traditional safety.

Yep..

The potential of this defense is what I’m most excited about. With Jones moving to CB and Awuzie, Lewis and Brown this could be the best CB’s we’ve had this Century.

And if Taco along with former 2nd round risks Jaylon and Gregory meet their potential this defense could elevate very quickly.

Im curious to see how much Gregory gets on the field the first half of the year. He could be buried a bit and they seem to be talking a slower approach as far as him being football ready.

Im also curious to see how many snaps Armstrong gets. He has been doing everything he can to break into the rotation

With Taco, I don't know if he "starts" but I expect to see him at RDE in alot of 3rd down packages opposite Lawrence

Taco most likely will start.

Not to shabby. I think Martin will be ok. Shut him down till week 1. Our Defense is gonna be ok. Secondary needs to catch up with the LB and D-Line.

I hate 16 passes for 87 yards..... overall 40 for 178 yds

The OL was blocking very poorly but these dumps and slants suck

Martins going to be ready for Carolina. We’ll see. But 1st team hasn’t looked bad considering Elliott hasn’t played yet. As long as we don’t need to use any of our backup OL.

But we haven’t been in a situation yet where we have to throw the ball in 4th qtr to win a game.

I don’t like the fact that we don’t have quality depth at O-Line. I thought we picked up some. 1 got injured and we never saw him and Fleming don’t look like what we figured we were getting. I think he is just coming here for a check and finishing his career. Chaz is a no go. Looney is pretty good. The other new kid has potential. If I am the staff I am finding me some players now.
