He won't be able to grip the ball this week. At least that's what they'll tell us.

They'd rather Rush play bad against the Eagles than Dak.

He'll be able to grip it Detroit week.

Yep I'm kind of getting that feeling almost like they're afraid to put him out there for fear of what will happen against the eagles

My feeling is we need a bit more mobile quarterback against the eagles then Cooper Rush is capable of being .

The eagles game in my opinion is one where it's a very bad matchup for Cooper.

He's going to have pain in that thumb for a long time it's whether or not he can overcome it and grip the ball throw it.

It can be healed and he can still have pain in it

Given how he played in week one, he absolutely needs a full week of practice before playing again. If he can't do that, he's not ready to play.
I see so many posts just running Dak into the ground without any substance.

That said, I 100% agree with this. He wasn't good after not playing in the preseason. He really needs to be practicing unlimited before starting again.

I'm starting to think Rush gives us a better chance against philly than a rusty not a 100% healthy Dak, when Dak is off he is OFF. I don't think he'll be ready. They'll keep him sidelined probably for another game or even bring him after the bye.

the difference is that Rush is not putting up spectacular numbers due to defeating HIMSELF with inaccuracies. when he puts up not so great numbers it is without INT's, missed chances and inaccurate passes mostly, due to great opposing teams defense.

Now I am not yet saying he is better than Dak or Dak's potential, but Dak keeps getting back to this rut against teams we need to beat, where he helps them defat us or cannot do anything.

he has GOT to stop that.
I don't know if I agree with that. Dak is very accurate...68.8% completion last year. 5th best in the league. So, the inaccuracies is not true...the numbers don't lie. Interceptions? That's part of the QBs job. They all throw them...bad read from time to time. Show me a QB that's never had a bad read from time to time. Dak has never been the one to throw a lot of ints. Dak has also has been QB when they've beat some good teams, ie. Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Philly. He's not going to beat every elite team he faces...no QB will. The record he has in the NFCE....tell me a Dallas QB that had a better record? As far as getting far in the playoffs. We all want that...just like other playoff teams. Anything can happen in the playoffs....for one reason or another, it hasn't happened to us yet. Plain and simple.

Personally I think a couple of things are clear
-The remaining schedule is extremely soft...Division games don't count since everyone plays everyone, but outside the division we have @ Green Bay, @ Minnesota and possibly @ Tennessee. The rest? games against Detroit, Chicago, Indy, Houston and Jacksonville.
-Even if the NY Giants maintain this level of play, we're probably playoff bound. I can easily see us going 3-0 in those "tough" games, but 2-1 is probably the most likely outcome
-Winning the division would be nice, but the last two Super Bowl winners didn't...getting right and hitting on all cylinders in January is most important

With that being said, I'm not rushing to play Dak this week. Give him another week to heal, if we lose, that's fine. We play them again in December at home and I think their schedule is a pinch more difficult. Enough to make up two games, possibly not, but the division won't be won in October.

Bringing him back next week before Detroit (or later) gives Dak a full week of practice and quite frankly a soft opponent that allows him to just work within the game plan and be successful. He'll then have Chicago before a bye week off and a three big games against Green Bay and Minnesota on the road before facing the Giants at home. *That* three game stretch will likely tell us more about this team than any other stretch

Man i am not looking forward to seeing this clown play again..

if the defense continues to play like this, I promise you Id rather have Rush out there

I agree but I’m not sure how long Rushs level of ability can keep leading to wins

we’ll probably be in the SB with Rush as quarterback and I still won’t believe it, lol

You believe that the FO is scared to put a guy they paid a bazillion dollars in to a game cause he got an owie?
If that’s the case, they should just keep his weak, whiny, insecure butt on the bench for the season.

Nobody wants Dak coming back too early, but everybody is 100% on board with a hobbled Micah not missing any time. My preference is to sit Micah for a game, assuming his groin injury doesn't improve, because he is way too valuable to this team. If he were to go from a strain to a tear because we allowed him to play through something this board will implode.

Better than knowing you are never going to a SB with Tak.

If Rush wins the next 3 games, which after PHIL are DET and CHI, you will never see Dak playing QB in Dallas for the rest of the year.

I’m not a ‘controversy’ person, but does anyone believe this is purely about healing? If they were 1-4, Dak would be playing next week.

IMHO I think they see the Eagles as a probable loss, which gives them a natural moment to switch qbs without angering the fandom. The only thing is: What if we win? This next 10 days will be a wild ride
I thought the same thing about the rams, and happily ate crow afterwards.. we'll see Sunday night...go Cowboys!

Dak should only be playing if he is 100% cleared by the medical staff and if so, willingly play within the existing game plan; and play not for the glorification of his own ego!

Can you grip the football 100% yet? Yeah, yeah, yeah...I'll push and start doing all that, I'm day to day.
