News: Preseason Competition

Looking over the recently-posted BTB article regarding our training-camp roster...

...along with some other good threads on position battles, and it’s become obvious that this preseason will present some SERIOUS competition for backup and depth slots on our 53 and PS.

While there’s still a few starting jobs that could be up for grabs, it seems like it’s been a while since the majority of camp-battles will be focused on the quality of our depth.

Really looking forward to this preseason.

I'm anxious to see what Johnson and Guyton do in preseason games. Of course their evaluation would be easier with better backup QBs throwing to them.

Depth is not an issue. I believe 2 spots on the OL are open. WR is going to be a scrum. CB will be interesting. DL is also going to be interesting. I think there will be a couple surprises there. Please Lord let there be a new starting S.

While depth itself hasn’t been an issue recently, we’ve now progressed to the point where improving the QUALITY of our depth has become a major focus. That in itself is a good issue.

I can't either, then all the non Zeke fans will see why he needs to get his butt in TC, with or without a new deal.

I will throw in Devin Smith and Reggie Davis in that group also.
All 4 of them have speed. Smith was a high draft pick, and injuries held him back. Davis showed a little something in TC last year as well.
Many have Wilson on the team, but I want to see him in games as well.
As long as Lenoir is gone.

One of them will make the team now that Hurns is out, but most likely would have still made it just because of the cap savings.
