Don't think its really an overreaction. I think people are a little concerned at the way he grabbed his back as soon as the play was over. People don't immediately grab a part of their body due to tightness.

It seems the only thing teams don't do in preseason is game plan for specific opponents. They still run their defenses and offenses.
