I realize most of you know this already, but for those who don't (or maybe would like a reminder) I'll go over the long-standing phenomenon of home teams during the pre-season.
(BTW, this is not an effort to coveup for yesterday's game, it's just some NFL trivia)
Other than maybe the dress rehearsal game (often week 3 of the preseason), home teams win the vast majority of preseason games. This is, in part, for PR and to get the fan base excited.
Just do this test sometime.
Look at the scores of all preseason games and look at which team was the visitor.
Odds are high than normal that they lost the game.

- Home teams often play more starters in the game
- Play at least some the starters longer
- Actually game plan a little bit
- Coach to win the game a bit more vs evaluate talent
- If a visiting team is planning to sit a player for safety or whatever, they prefer using a road game.
- Road teams almost never game plan.
- Although pr4esaeason is mostly about evaluating talent and trimming the roster, it's even moreso for the visiting teams.
