Preseason Games not on Direct TV

A few months ago we got into a discussion about the Super Fan package including the preseason games. I had called Direct TV and was assured that my programming would include the preseason games once again. Now that the preseason is here, I am sad to say that I was wrong. They are not included in my package, so this is my public admission that I was wrong.

I called Direct TV again today, in fact I just got off the phone with them and they told me that since the NFL network is airing 50+ of them, they (direct tv) lost the rights to air the preseason games.

Anyway, I was wrong and I am ready to take my lumps... so bring it.. LOL

If they're on NFLN they're on Directv. What's the problem?

I get them on NFLN, I said that I got them all bundled like the Sunday Ticket. There isn't a problem, I just found out that a position I had argued on was proven wrong, and I was setting the record straight.

That seems weird...you would think that when the contract was signed by DirecTV and the NFL this would have been spelled out to DirecTV.

I had never seen Pre season games on DirecTV before.

I think he was saying...at least a few months ago he did...that he saw them live just like regular games...not replayed on NFL Network.

The only one's i've seen are the giants games which are on 382E. The problem is preseason games are carried by the local affiliates. I don't think the NFL has the rights to that yet.

That is weird because Directv has never shown preseason games in any format other than on the regular channels. Not since I became a subscriber in 2000 at least.

I agree with this. Pre-season games have never been part of Sunday Ticket as far as I know.

Unfortunately you get employees who don't know what they are talking about and will just about saying anything. I've had an issue with some medical insurance problems lately like this, so it just happens.

But, if you have the NFL Network, you can see all of the preseason games.

Again guys NFL sunday ticket games are national broadcast nationally by CBS and FOX. Preseason games are televised locally. I've had a beef with this for years. I dont think it would be hard for Directv to get the rights to these preseason games.
