This is a hard pick for me. I think he's a player that will get better behind this line and if paired in the same backfield as Zeke. Same size, similar speed, but obviously not the same skill or vision or drive (now). But I think there is a great possibility that he will have a decent training camp. Seems to have his head on straight and knows he has a long long way to go. That being said, I wish the young man well.

So what do you all think will be his fate this training camp?

I didn't really like your categories. I think it's entirely possible that he plays decently or better and still doesn't make the squad.

Well if you give me the categories...I would gladly use them for the next round of questions. Seriously. I am doing this to spark debate, dialogue and if I'm honest some healthy arguments between the posters, such as yourself, that often make me and others think.

So, I agree with you..and there only a few slots available for the polls.

It's all good man. I like the spirit and intent. I just thought the categories were not representative of all. I voted but I didn't necessarily agree with what I was voting for although it was closest to the best.

If I may recommend, make the last category for 'other' and ask people to explain what they mean. I think you will like the response you get from that.

Yeah I did that in the first one and should have done it for the second one as well. Good looking out.

If Dunbar starts on PUP Jackson could make the 53 and see what happens.

I'm not convinced that Dunbar makes the team even if he isn't on the PUP. I see us keeping 4 RB and not FB is how I see Jackson making the squad.

If he shows out in the preseason DMac's days are numbered. Jackson, Tapper, Collins and Brown are my favorite picks of this draft.

Practice squad to start.

Ends up on the 53 when Dunbar and McFadden miss time.

I don't think he'll make to the practice squad, unless he really blows in preseason. I don't think we would've drafted another rb in the 6th unless we knew someone else was going to get him, we really liked him as a player, or both. I think he makes the 53 instead of a FB this season. Spells Zeke and Morris, and special teams contributer this year, not sure what that will mean for DMac, we'll see.

I just can't imagine them jettisoning DMac for a guy who, at least according to the NFL scout report, has no football instincts. Jackson is a apparently a great athlete, but was projected to go undrafted and was only grabbed by us in the 6th round. And he likely went based on his sparq score. Christine Michael 2.0 is not going to kick McFadden off of the team IMO.

Seems like a practice squad player to me.

All this makes sense. It really does. Makes you wonder why the combine and scores count. You have at least 2 or 3 years of film on someone and they go to Indy or some pro day and we say "perhaps the 20-30 games are wrong" I'm all for potential, but at some point you gotta show it and show it consistently.

I can see it, even after the fine season McFadden had in 2015. I think it will depend on two factors:

First, on what Jackson himself shows the team during training camp and preseason. He has to show that he's capable and worth a roster spot. Can he pass protect if need be and contribute on special teams enough to be active on game day?

Second, how much zone blocking does this team want to run? McFadden simply can't run behind that blocking, and that forced the team to switch up schemes during the season to accommodate him. If they have enough other options, they may decide against changing schemes and decide to change players instead.

Given McFadden's most recent injury, I think Jackson's chances to make this team increased.

Agree--if one of the teams lose their 1 or 1a Dallas could be in prime position to either unload DMAC or Alfred as well. I just don't see a scenario where they keep all four and I am not including Lance since he will be on the PUP.

I wouldn't waste any more time with Dunbar, despite his abilities in the passing game, the poor guy just isn't built to play pro football and can't stay healthy. Every time they've used his abilities on anything resembling a consistant basis, he's broken down. And I've had enough of injuries derailing this team's chances. If I have other options, I'm going with them.

And while I think the team would like to trade McFadden, I'm not sure that they'll have any takers for him and may just have to ultimately release him.

So much of this depends on the RB's ahead of him on the depth chart. Do the Cowboys keep DMac and Dunbar? Does Morris have anything left? Considering injuries, he will have plenty of opportunities to what he has, but with Zeke and Morris likely getting the lion share, I think he makes the team based on his contributions on Special teams.

I think he will be a major contributor in preseason and rack up yards if the third string OL is ok. Hope he shows enough to be game day active for kicking game.
