I've been watching a lot of preseason games, and a few thoughts:
It does seem like defense has been outlawed. The way they are calling holding and illegal contact, it might as well be called the "automatic first down when you don't get third down conversions" rule.
It does also seem like there are quite a few good offenses, ready to roll. The Cowboys offense is one of these, and it's not really close that we are the best in the East. The Giants are awful. RG3 is too inconsistent. And, the Eagles look ok but seem like one injury to a receive or McCoy from being mediocre. Their top-level talent is nowhere near ours outside of McCoy. Romo > Foles. Dez> maclin. TWill > Cooper. Witten/Escobar> Ertz/Celek. I'll take our oline, too, and our 3-6 recievers, no doubt. Heck, I'd prob even take Dunbar over an older Sproles. We look stacked, even from a depth perspective.
The Eagles D looks a little better than ours, mostly at LB. But they gave up 21 to 1st two stings of Pats offense and it coulda been more.
It looks like these two teams for the crown again, with maybe a surprise Skins. The Giants are awful.
Maybe the good offenses and flag throwing means the league never wants to see a Seattle team win again. Only a Broncos. or Saints. or Patriots. or maybe, just maybe, a Cowboys.
