It only takes a few seconds. If you don't want to use your real email, just set a dummy email. It's a good idea to have one just for these circumstances.

alright guys, im computer illiterate...im sorry! I registerd...hit the download button then it said i had to say thanks...i hit the thanks button then downloaded it again and it finished in like 2secs...obviously not the full download...then i tried to play it and it didnt...what am i doing wrong...??

It's a torrent file. You downloaded the torrent file. You have to download a program that will open the torrent file which then downloads the actual video.

To download torrents I recommend utorrent. Its small and loads faster than azureus. I was using azureus for the longest time, but decided to try another client, its much better. If you are getting bad download rates, you are behind a router or firewall and should consider opening up the correct ports.

To watch the video i recommend VideoLan player. You can basically watch anything without getting the codecs specific to the video. Its a simple video player which can do almost anything.

Guys, all I can suggest is to simply Google the error message. If someone else has had the problem, you can probably find the solution that way.
