I would definitely get rid of Owens. Not because he is a bad player, he isn't. Not by any wild stretch of the imagination.

Not because the fans and media are calling for it. Screw that. Who cares? I don't.

Not because it could drive Garrett or Sherman away. I'm the biggest Garrett shill on the forum. I have a serious agenda for him to be the next Head Coach.

There are three reasons why I would do this. Felix Jones, Marion Barber, and Tashard Choice.

I love ball control Offense. I love to pound the other team to death. I love to see the Defense getting rest while the Offense moves the chains.

Roy can be a #1, Austin #2, Crayton the #3. Witten is the best weapon in the passing attack anyway and Bennett could be utilized more.

The money saved could shore up the O-line which is badly needed. I'd like to spend on Defense so that they can be the attacking disruptive force I want. 59 sacks in 2008 was great, but they gave up too many points, too much yardage and wore down.

The payoff would be less distractions. Sorry Owens fans, but denying he is a distraction is wearing blinders. Guy is one hell of a football player, but he is high maintenance and what this team needs is a new focus. Ball control is the answer.

We'd still have some home run hitters with Roy, Austin and especially Felix.

We might score fewer points, in fact we probably would. But I'd trade that for a more focused, less distracted team that wins more and I think we'd win more in 2009 with Owens gone and a new focus on Offense.

It's just my opinion and you're free to disagree.

If I was a GM, I could not possibly do any worse than Jerry has. But I will be real. I would be a better owner than a GM. If I was an owner I would get a football guy for a GM and just write out the paychecks.

send it to Jerruh ;)

what is interesting is while i agree on all accounts posted above you have a serious conundrum:

1. your crush on jason (snicker) who loathes ball control

2. jerry said we can't afford to cut TO and keep ware (cough-bull-cough)

So...Hos wants to mimic the Giants. If you were Jerry, they'd be calling you a copycat GM.

I agree that a run control O with solid receivers is the way to go, but I still don't like Roy Williams. Made 0 impact this year.

Don't know if our top 3 w/out TO would be enough.

Rw is no number 1.He is slow as molasses.Worst trade ever.TO is way way better then him. Therefore our wr corps would scare nobody. No matter what u do you have to have an offensive line to play pass or ball control.Ours was crap this year.Kosier loss affected it greatly.Reds playcalling didnt change even though it should have with the line not playing as well.Shanny would be the best thing for Romo and this offense by far.Shanny would utilize the weapons.

I like to pretend I'm a fan dancer at the Copa.

Hos, you insulted the TO coddlers. Get ready for a lot of GROH requests.

Actually, I want to mimic the 90's Cowboys who rode Emmitt Smith to 3 titles by wearing teams down. The kind of coaching Jason Garrett learned under guys like Zampese and Norv. Back to his true roots.

It's great to have a quick strike Offense, but I think we would be a better team by beating the other teams up. Guys like Flo and BIGG are maulers. Gurode is too. Holland could be. Columbo is a mauler who likes to be an enforcer. Give them what they need, a reason to beat the hell out of someone.

Hello Lola.

I am embarrassed that I know the lyrics to that song.

Would we be saving any money by cutting a guy we just signed to the contract we just signed him to? I honestly don't know.

You would never hear me griping about going for Shanahan.

No matter who the coach is, TO has to either be gone or shut up. We will start winning again when he does. The more he talks, the more we're going to lose.

That line has the ability to maul, but they dont.I wonder if Houck had to do with the inability.idk.I would thing Garrett would pound it more and go to his roots, but again he doesnt. He thinks we have NE Oline and Brady.West Coast O would be best with our personnel.Romo would be wonderful with west coast.

I will agree he needs to shut his hole and stay away from media like Barber. That would be the best thing for the team and him.

Last year, I would've vehemently disagreed with your opinion, Hos. This year, not only do I agree, I think it may be necessary for this team to have any hope of seriously contending.

Fact is, this team with TO last season has shown it can't throw worth a damn. So you take away the fact that TO receives double teams and what happens? Its just a nightmare. I'm of the belief that if a player is the reason why a guy like Romo is struggling then its time to get rid of Romo. I don't believe that though. I think injury caught up with Romo but that's another story. The receiving core is fine. The playcalling is not. The playcalling was fine 2 years ago so don't sit here and tell me this offense can't work with TO because it did and Terry Glenn was a beast with over 1,000 yards and Crayton was as well. What happened last year? I still don't know. I've asked this question too many times and still don't get an answer.

The Deion interview was a deal breaker with me as far as his mouth. That was so pointless and at the worst possible time.He is a media ***** and I didnt mind it when he was completely dominating.Ali is a hero of mine even though he had a large mouth.Ali used it wisely and backed it up.TO does not use it wisely so he should shut up.

My first reaction when the suggestion of dumping T.O. came up was 'No Way'. I'm starting to warm to it though for the reasons you mentioned.

Yes, he's got talent, but even on his best behavior he cannot help but come off as a selfish jerk. It's just who he is. I don't hate him for it, but after this season the team just doesn't need it. Not to mention, we don't want to be the team stuck with him when his age finally does start to show, if it hasn't already.

BUT, I just can't get over the fact that we added talent in the form of F Jones, Bennett and Choice but went seemingly backwards on offense. I'm not drinking the Garrett went stupid Kool-Aid. I don't see why we couldn't keep the skill positions intact, build some quality depth on the o-line this season and get back to the offensive form we showed last year.

It wasn't a sleep with, it was a hit.
