I think we’re seeing that at the end of the game Mike doesn’t trust Quinn’s defense . Hence the killshot attempts
Auburn did the same vs Alabama this year. Alabama had a 4th and goal from their 35 and Auburn had been wrecking them all game and went prevent for the win. It’s such a CYA move, IMO.
It’s the fear of getting beat deep quickly, that causes DCs to use it.
They’d rather get roasted for losing by playing “safe”
As they have been saying for the last 30 or so years the only thing the prevent D prevents is nothingWhat does this defense actually do? I'd argue that we should ride what got us through the game and if we lose to a big play, at least there is more time for offense to work. Unless, of course, the prevent defense was designed to prevent my high blood pressure med from working. Then I understand it completely. Maybe I am wrong but to me it feels like offenses just scream down the field with ease. I know today's football is all about analytics. Do the numbers show that the prevent defense actually works more times than not?
It makes 0 sense. Like I said in the chat, we might as well not even be out there. Just let them score. We do it anyway. We'll have more time on the clock when we get the ball back.Yes, it prevents wins more often than not by the team that uses it.
he is up and down like a roller coaster with schemes.......just like his players.DQ has been slacking for a month
