Remeber when we were about to sign Bledsoe and Mickey Spagnola said follow the money to see what his role will be in the offence...Will this is the same with Price...Parcells isnt gonna play 2 Million for 25 catches and 2 TD's....I think he gets 50 catches for 800-900 yards and 6 TD's

If Crayton's hands are made of glue and he's running smoother than silk I don't think that will happen. If Crayton suddenly grows bricks and runs like mashed potatoes then Price will be #3 for sure.

In other words, it depends on how Crayton plays. Bill won't play Price just because of status or money; he didn't play Rogers last year just because he was a #2. Instead, he started an undrafted FA all year.

There will plays put in even as early as THIS Sunday just for Price's strengths.
We will see Parcells use ALL of them and Price is a legit deep threat to open up our offense with Glenn.

Whether he is the "third" or "fourth" WR , he will be playing!

I know that Parcell will play who can move the chains but he is not gonna pay 2 mill for a guy to be the 4th receiver(note: there will not be any 4 WR sets and he cant play ST) He will give Price every chance to take the job from Clayton. What would you say to Parcells if you were Jerry and Price only has 10 catches goin into game 8. They released some quiality players to save some change so they can go ahead ans sign him. He has to be in Parcells plans.

Nobody brings up Terry Glenn, what is to say Price can't supplant him as the starter. At this stage in their career I think Price is more talented, while his numbers suffered in Atlanta, is that a result of the offense? Or perhaps defenses being able to double team him with no viable #2 option. With his age and injuries, Glenn doesn't have that long left, if we can find a replacement in Price so be it, but I don't see how that isn't a reasonable result.

No way is Price more talented than Glenn. Hasn't got anything like his agility. And nothing like his route repertore. Doesn't have his quality hands, not his degree of speed. And Glenn's best attribute is his ability to adjust on a route.

At this stage in their careers, the two years Terry has on Peerless doesn't negate that. He is not an "old" 31.

Everyone is gonna get the ball, but that role Bill told Price to carve out for himself imo will serve the team best as Terry Glenn's 'decoy'.

I doubt you see much of price early on it will be hard for him to move above #4 if the other 3 are doing well.

!st playbook and lack of knowing it comes into play; How he blocks in the run game has to be determine if he sees the field; timing with the QB he has missed all the mini camp here. Yes he was in camp two different offenses.

In fact I do not see Price breaking above 4 all year unless an injury occurs

I don't think it really matters who the third or fourth receiver are because Crayton and Price play two different positions. Crayton is backing up Glenn, and Price is backing up Johnson. It's as simple as that.

All four recievers will get lots of playing time. But I guess the real question should be, if Johnson struggles early in the season, and Price excells, does Bill bench Keyshawn?

Exactly, and that is a good question.

We may see some more rotation down the road, but early on, it will be mostly Key.

Since Key can also block relatively well, I wouldn't be surprised to see him line up in the TE spot every once in a blue moon to give Witten a breather.

(although I'm not really sure how likey that actually would be)

The big question is:

Is our offense going to resemble the offense in 2003 or the offense in 2004. BP says he likes the grind it out style and that is what he is going back to, but I really don't believe that is going to be the case and I believe that BP now thinks he has the receivers to open things up a good bit and we will have a vey balanced attack. If we do, there will be a lot of balls to go around and I can see, if healthy, Glenn around 70 balls and Keyshawn and Price around 35-50 each with Crayton getting 30 - 40.

Glenn, if healthy is Bledsoe's go to guy. Keyshawn still has not developed a rapport with Bledsoe and in 3 WR sets Price/Crayton/Glenn will get the ball more than Keyshawn IMO.

Price does not have to get 50-60 balls to be worth the 2 mill, this 2 mill is a way to get a look for a replacement for Keyshawn IMO for next year or the following. If Price does the job he will get a long term deal next year.

Agreed Glenn is by far the more talented WR and I would say the better rounded WR as well.

The ONLY two things that Price has over Glenn is his younger age and his lack of missing games due to injuries over the years.

I loved glenn while he was in Ohio State and pretty much forgot about him after his rookie season.

But in his short stint in Dallas he has made me drop my jaw on many occasions by beating people but more importantly by some of the great catches, not only hands but keeping his feet inbounds.

I think each of these guys will get ample oppertunities and if we are winning games the personal numbers will not mean a thing.

Key and Glenn will start...that is pretty much a given and they should start. Crayton will get his chances early and would have to have a meltdown to be beat out if we stick with the traditional #1, #2 and #3 sets. However, I think our coaches will devise schemes that will allow all 4 players to get on the field in different sets and different combinations. I don't foresee very many (if any at all) 4 wide sets but I do see sets with all of the receivers getting in the game in various combinations given different situations. We may get into such a rotation that it will be difficult to distinguish the #3 from the #4. And they might very well get more snaps than just in the 3 wide sets.

Why are we bickering about a GOOD thing? Price is a valuable asset to our team, and he will contribute when given the chance. It is very possible to have two WRs, a RB, and a TE with over 1,000 yards. The most yards go to the player who wants it the most. Whatever way you slice it, with Price on the field, someone is going to get open. He makes it harder to double Glenn or Witten.
It's a GOOD thing, guys.

I say let's keep Key on the DBs. He can excel as a blocker there.

Price might very well be the number 3 reciever by then.

But if it happens...I bet its more likely due to injuries.

You just know Terry or Keyshawn will get hurt at some point this season.

Terry because he is frail...and Keyshawn because he goes across the middle and will take a pounding doing it.

Hey if PP can contribute and score touchdowns I don't care how often you throw the ball to him. I don't care if he's the #1 wideout, okay? Whoever can score the most touchdowns is all that matters!!!!

Plus Parcells said he wanted to reduce Glenn's playing time to keep him fresh so I think just like other positions he will rotate the WR's. :starspin

He probably wanted to reduce his playing time to keep him healthy and not on the sidelines for the season.
