Do you all think price will be able to contribute this yr besides punt returns? Such as some Long TD catches which we all remember in Buffalo

I think he will do fine. I thought Crayton stunk at PR until his last 2 games or so, so I'm willing to give Price more time at it. Price does kind of hold the ball out there while at PR, just like Crayton did. Must be instinctive or something. Either way, we need to fix that ASAP before we lose a fumble or 2. As far as going deep to Price, I guess it all depends on the game plan for that week and how comfortable we are with our 2 inexperienced tackles.

I look for them to try and work him in a little more after this bye week. The extra time will allow them to put in some plays designed for him and decoying on him and off of him.

I think he has the tools and I really am unclear on why he has not been more involved so far.

new to the O, Key, Glenn and Crayton all already doing well, and then when Crayton and Flozell went down, worry about the bookends at OT, using alot of 2-TE formations, which negates 3-WR packages, he certainly isn't taking Key and Glenn's spots, are all reasons why he's not been involved so far, well, as far as all I can think of, and as the poster above you stated, how comfortable the coaches are with the bookends at OT, will determine how involved Price becomes in the offense, the rest of the way

I certainly don't think he should have taken time from Crayton, as odd as that sounds. Crayton has performed very well. But with him out I would have thought Pirce could have stepped in to that role without much (some) less effectiveness.

That has not happened, I see the OT position worries but he could be a very good got route option, to leave Glenn looking deeper if the blitzes are picked up. Just a thought.

:hammer:

Exactly, the scheme has not allow him to be involved much yet.

I think Price brings some real flexibility to the pass offense......IF Parcells can trust the OL to protect Bledsoe. As we get into this tough stretch, he can surprise people with some different looks if we can stop the pass rush. It is a nice option, but protecting our statue, er..QB, will remain top priority.

I want to see more Julius Jones before I see more Peerless Price....and that's no slight to our Peerless.

I think before all is said and done he will contribute a lot for this team in the passing game.

Price is doing a good job considering his short time with the team....but, we need Crayton for the stretch run.....his 3rd down grabs in traffic are epic....and IMO he does it better then any player on the team......his big hands stick to the ball.

He could get the occasional TD, but no I do not think he can return to Buffalo form. The reason is real simple, he's not better than Glenn or Key so at best he is a #3 guy and if Crayton is healthy maybe a #4 guy.

It's called pecking order.

The fact that Bill has kept a roster spot open and not put PC on IR says a lot.

Really, it's quite a few weeks to hold a spot for a third receiver/punt returner when he has a replacement behind him making two million dollars. Of course, another wo injury would make IR a fatal error and that factor weighs pretty heavy...but Bill's history has been one of very grudgingly waiting for injuries of six to eight weeks to clear up.

If someone had said a year ago today that Bill Parcells would go short handed for two months for Patrick Crayton, I'd never have believed it. Not on an injury serious enough to be a month in a boot, and the possibility that multiple weeks will be needed for him to regain full form..cutting, planting, etc. All for the possibility of him returning in crunch time.

Yeah, 3rd receiver is now a critical position in the league regardless of who it is, but there is still a lot to be said about this particular 3rd receiver's worth. Patrick's learning curve has been flat out astonishing, and the variety of his skills at this early stage only trumped by the precocious MBIII's.

We have to call Price a colossal failure so far. I totally reject the idea that he hasn't had enough time here to get involved. He's been here half of a season. He's a vet and he should be able to get up to speed in a new offense quickly -- unless the rumblings about him not being smart are true (a 14 wonderlic coming out of college supports that).

Point blank -- Price had earned nearly 1 million dollars so far. What have we received: 3 catches for 23 yards and a 5.3 average on punt returns. PITIFUL

Gotta disagree with your take here, abersonc.

Well, players can only get involved as much as the coaches allow them. Price, according to Bill, has learned all three wide out positions since he signed on late summer, so I think that qualifies as being up to speed...and he apparently has used his time wisely.

On that wonderlic..Terry scored exactly one point higher on his and quarterbacks rave about his intelligence. Those scores have more to do with being academically underprepared going into and coming out of college, and specific test taking skills, than they do about any g factor or specialized intelligence, imo.

Anyway, in Buffalo Price excelled in the Gilbride O which places a lot of emphasis on receivers adjusting their routes based on reading of defenses. Peerless is not an articulate interviewer, by any means. But I think he's got the requisite gray matter to play the game well.

On the money angle..we (sic, Jerry) were willing to pay high for insurance. And that is exactly what we got. If the offense we are playing is more suited to Patrick's skill set than Price's, then again, that's not on the player. Price has been willing to return punts, run routes down the middle, and do his best blocking. He hasn't been a prima donna in any sense of the word. I've been pleased with him because most of the Atlanta based criticisms are proving themselves false. (won't block, shies from contact, lacks concentration). However, since he is neither as fast as Terry nor has his separation skills, I am not anywhere near as disappointed with PP as those who expected to see Price doing a Galloway act here.

how many plays have been called for him? how many passes has he dropped? how many times has Bledsoe not looked his way?

You talk like Price is the #1 reciever and that Parcells calls everything his way and that he's dropping everything

as the guy above said, players are involved as much as the coaches allow them to be

SO SHUT THE HELL UP YOU STUPID ****** *******!!!! jk
