Should be double tight ends, two receivers, and one back. Max protect for Mr. Johnson. Take advantage of of TO & RW size to run quick slants, fade routes against the Tampa 2. Use this formation to run play action waggle passes. Or run two receivers to one side of the formation, to run complimentary routes.

Also, this should provide adequate blocking for the running game. Just a thought....

I agree with the 2 TE, and even 3 TE to get the ground game going and make play action work. Having to design a game plan for Brad could actually be a blessing in disguise for Garrett, if it wakes him up to what we can do when we commit to the running game.

I agree, we need to have some more positive runs on 1st down and set up nice and short 3rd down conversions. We can't get in long situations in 3rd down and let them tee off on Brad.

I've seen enough of Bennett to believe he's a player.

The 2 TE formation most certainly puts our best talent on the field. Bennett is a willing and more than capable blocker. That's the key. We know Witten is as well.

From left to right, OWENS, BENNETT, WITTEN and WILLIAMS puts maximum pressure on the defense.

If I'm a DC, I'm breathing a sigh of relief when I don't see this formation on 1st or 2nd down.

I would bring in McQ occasionally to help bang out some holes and protect grandpa.

I do agree with the two-TE set being used more simply because Bennett is much better than Anderson.

However, I think the two-TE set is more valuable with Felix in the game because of his ability to stretch the field horizontally. With Barber in the game, it just packs more guys into the box unless one of the TEs is put in the slot in which case it is not a bad idea at all.

Too bad we're still wasting our time with Curtis.

We're too worried about eight in the box. Remember, Barber's 35-yarder last week was out of a 3 TE set. The offense just executed (if you don't count Owens not holding his block long enough).

Different defense this week (Bucs are not the Rams), but the Rams actually had nine in the box on that play, we just put a hat on everybody, and Barber made Otogwe miss downfield. Should've been a touchdown, but the CB who was on Owens got away and caught Barber from behind.

Felix makes sloppy blocking look good, no question. But we can do this with the personnel we have if we just execute.

I agree, Zach. Too bad Garrett is too stubborn and never abandons his downfield game plan.

Max protect or allow Johnson to do the ol' "kill kill kill" thing to get himself some protection. Play it like Bledsoe is back there.

if we do this and have

Bennett Williams Owens Witten

Both TE's lined up on the outside it would be better and cause more match up problems.

I definitely like the 2 TE set as our primary set, this could be as explosive if not more explosive.

With this set, they are forced to play a basic package leaving Witten and Bennett alone with LBs and Safeties and both could destroy those coverages.

You could also run anytime you'd like, if they are foolish enough to put a nickel package out there, you would basically run for 300 yards.

I would LOVE to see that formation and just run right over them with MBIII. Knock them all right back on their ***. 18 play 80 yard drive for TD.

Camera shot of Chuckie on the sideline going
