Did anyone else notice the similarities between Deion and Newman on that nifty punt return? Maybe I had some bad beer, but I was having some serious flashbacks.

Am I alone?

deion never came on the blitz or more to the point was never willing to put the big hit on someone, I would actually call the comparison a push from a who's better or worse argument deion was a better athlete but newman is a more complete football player

Well, Newman sure had some nifty-nimble moves. Even his physique and the way he ran with fluidity and missed tackles was the spitting image of Deion.

I do agree though that Newman is more complete. He blitzes and finishes off tackles much better. Man, he is gonna be one expensive player to re-sign!

I believe Deion called it a "business decisions"... :D

And yes - they look somewhat similar - their frames, the way they dress. He needs to swap jerseys with Julius and make Julius wear number 22 or 33. j/k

I have always noticed it. Both have unprecendented footwork, both are stupid fast, and both carry the ball out in front of them with two hands. Also, both almost look like they are dancing when they run back kicks.

He does get all excited witing for it back there. He was hopping up and down on his toes.

Yes he is.

However, I look at it like he has given us a few really good years at a discount (Rookie contract), because last year and this year he has played way above even his top 10 rookie contract. So, he deserves it, IMO... and he'll get what he deserves here in Dallas.

Um, sorry, I really only know about Asthma... you should know about Newman.

j/k. I'm not sure... but whatever it is, he's underpaid for how good he plays for us.

I love Newman and all, but come one. You're kidding yourself. Deion is the best cover corner of all time. I think his positives FAR outweigh his negatives.

He did exactly what Deion told him to do - He set up the returner d by moving towards the sideline, and when he had the defense all moved in one direction, he shot straight up the gut.

Had it not been for him running into his own man (he did it twice that day) he could've possibly scored, because he had a plethora of blockers in front of him.

That's becasue he aped the exact same pose that Deion did when he knew he was going to score.

Hall doesn't have the effortless look that Sanders and Newman have when they kick it into overdrive. He's a good corner, but the only thing he has that Deion has is the propenstiy for dramatics.

Yep I noticed! TNew and DHall gave Deion lots of love yesterday.(TNew not so deliberate..he just looked like Deion and I am sure Deion noticed when he watched the highlights) I'm sure Deion was sitting back in his comfy NFL Network chair and enjoying the accolades.
