What do ya'll think of the new way the NFL is gonna do the Pro Bowl, being b4 the Super Bowl?

More replacement Pro Bowlers due to the Super Bowl players not playing in the game.

I actually like the format, b/c it allows for some people to play in it who normally don't get in due to voting. It also keeps the excitement in the NFL. Normally there'd be a dead week in between the Super Bowl and the Conference Championship games, which kills the excitement. Normally only really football crazy people would watch the Pro Bowl because it was a while after the Super Bowl so the excitement from the Super Bowl is gone. This both brings more viewership to the Pro Bowl while keeping the excitement of the NFL season intact. You lose some of the big names from the Super Bowl squads, but in the end it's still filled with stars and makes it more fun to watch.

Personally, I'd like to see more skills competitions, which would allow them to have a midseason Pro Bowl break. I'm not sure who benefits from the actual game, especially because of the heightened risk of injury.

They could have the pro bowl whenever they want and I still wouldn't watch. It's about the most boring thing on television.

Is this a trial and error sort of thing or did they change the rule and now the ProBowl will always be played before Superbowl? I still dont know how I feel about that.

Sure, if you like watching the alternates.

Yeah, what horrible alternates. Third and fourth string pro-bowlers are a lot different then third and fourth string practice squad players.

They should have the game in primetime for starters, having it any earlier is dumb. Follow the blueprint of the NBA all-star weekend. Have a couple of nights of skills competitions.

And I think they should have kept the pro bowl in the city of the super bowl. If you want the pro bowl in hawaii, have the super bowl there too. It makes it more accessible to fans.

Will the Colts and Saints watch from the stands like the varsity waiting for the junior varsity game to end? Will they even be in town yet? Pro Bowl. blah

Even though I rarely watch it, I think it is a bad idea.....but this IS a business after all and they have already sold more tickets for this pro-bowl than for any other....

Yep have an award dinner make it more like a Grammy show and it be 500 times more interesting then the Pro-Bowl.

In fact i can not remember ever watching a Pro-Bowl not even as a kid and I will still not watch a Pro Bowl. In fact I have watched more East-West and those type of games than Pro Bowls

This year it will be great because we won't have to watch any Vikings in the Pro Bowl.

Only because it's the first time in a new place. The only way to consistently to that would be to have it move every year...which would make sense if it stays with the Super Bowl.

I still think the Pro Bowl blows either way.

I like watching the skills challenge but the overall pro bowl is boring to watch. But if i had to pick one i'd rather watch it after the superbowl so everyone plays

They do have some skill competitions during the Pro Bowl, or before it, like the QB competition and some other stuff. I actually enjoy watching the game because there can be some pretty interesting plays, ie. Fumblerooski and I remember the fake punt by Mooreman that ended in him getting lit up by Sean Taylor.

Meh, it's simply a push by the league to pump more cash out of the NFL brand. When you look at it in that light it's a brilliant business decision. No Super Bowl hangover means more people will be watching on TV and with it being in Miami means more money from ticket sales, vendors, etc.

As far as the game goes it will still be the same boring exhibition it's always been.
