I know we are only just over half way thru the season but I think it is time to start promoting a couple of our cowboys who are having a pro bowl season and probably wont be recognized until next year--that seems to be the way it works with the pro bowl
1.Bradie James--the most pleasant surprise on the defense this year IMO
One of the concerns over switching to the 3-4 was inside linebacker--was Dat too small--who would be the other ILB?
Well James has answered the second question admirably and getting better every game. He leads the team in tackles--a prerequisite for ILB in a 3-4; he adds sacks and provides very good pass coverage AND he is turning into a leader. I was very impressed by the effort he made yesterday to go down field and block Mcnabb--How many times would guys jog and watch only to see the last player make a shoe string tackle or force Williams out of bounds. And frankly I would be very worried about our ability to punch it in from the 10 yesterday for the winning td.
2. Hello Newman!--old joke I know--but you never hear about him. He just goes about his business--providing blanket coverage--excellent support and excellent tackling--when was the last time you saw him miss a tackle and a 4 yard gain become 12??? I dont know what Mcnabb saw yesterday on the interception because Newman had Brown absolutely blanketed
Now if Shepard is a Pro bowler and he is starting to deserve the name "toast"
then Newman should be considered also.
