Not to resurrect the Bill vs. Wade discussions...just thought this was interesting...

Witten - Bill pick (but in the 3rd round, almost by default)
Adams - pre-Bill
Davis - post Bill
Folk - post Bill
Ware - Bill pick (rumored to have wanted Spears instead?)
Barber - Bill pick
Romo - Bill signing (should Payton receive some of the credit here?)
Gurode - pre Bill
T.O. - Bill signing (against his judgment?)
Hamlin -post Bill
Newman - Bill pick (rumored to have wanted the Jets DT...Dwayne Robertson?)
Williams - pre Bill (of course, debatable as to merit, but in nonetheless)

I just found it interesting that half of the ProBowlers Bill had nothing to do with acquiring, and regarding several of the other half it is debatable as to whether he wanted them or not...

Also 3 of them (Barber, Newman, and T.O.) were here during Bill's tenure and did not make the Pro Bowl. (of course one could argue that Pro Bowl selections come a year late...)


I think Bill deserves a tremendous amount of credit for stocking the pantry...just found this interesting...

Rumor has it that BP was the one that convinced Jerrah to give Gurode one more chance and sign him to that one year contract in 2006. So BP deserves some credit there. Also BP told Jerrah to sign the Hotel to that contract in 2003. Jerrah was not all that enthused. So add that to the total.

I love how you qualify most of the picks Bill Parcells made.

Whether he wanted those players or not, they were acquired under his watch.

I am very grateful for what Bill Parcells did for this franchise.

I don't think the debate should be who built the Cowboys but who is running the team better. You can give multiple people credit for getting certain players here. But Wade and Garrett are playing to win games, where Parcells always seamed to play not to lose and that always seemed to come back and bite us.
