Pro-Day Coverage Begins Today!
4
Mar
There’s no rest for the weary. We just returned from the NFL combine and already pro-day workouts have begun around the country. As has been the case the past half-dozen years, TFYDraftInsider.net promises to bring you the most intense coverage of pro-day workouts of anyone on the net or in the media. Today we will be live from Missouri and Baylor pro-days, but we start off with the events from yesterday in Manhattan, Kansas! Update from Baylor!
Update 3PM EST
Seventeen teams showed up in Waco, Texas today to watch the Baylor Bears workout.
Included are the Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.
Early on the big winner has been another surprise non-invite to the combine, Joe Pawelek. The fierce run stuffing linebacker measured 6022/237 pounds then ran a surprisingly fast 4.72 seconds in the forty. His vertical jump was 30.5-inches with a broad jump of 9-feet, 4-inches.
Missouri is about halfway through the testing portion of their workout. More as it comes in.
Update 11AM EST
Almost 20 NFL teams gathered on the campus of Kansas State yesterday, most on hand to watch defensive lineman Jeffery Fitzgerald work out. Fitzgerald was a surprise non-invite to the combine and had a lot to prove. He did not disappoint.
Fitzgerald weighed 271-pounds, equal to what he was at the East-West Game. He clocked as fast as 4.84-seconds in the forty, posted a 35-inch vertical jump and 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump. The only disappointment was 21 reps on the bench.
Fitzgerald met extensively with five clubs after the workout, most prominently the New York Jets and New England Patriots. The Baltimore Ravens ran Fitzgerald’s workout. Most interesting because all three teams line up in a 3-4 and we’ve noted for the longest time we feel Fitzgerald has potential as a two-gap lineman.
