Been stewing and fuming since the debacle yesterday. Here is a short summary of why this season sucked (in no particular order):

1. We lost games we should have won vs the Rams and Packers.

2. We produced the worst 3 game offensive
stretch in franchis history.

3. Zeke drama and suspension

4. Dez drama and WR underachievement

5. OL injuries and inconsistent execution

6. Dak regressed badly

7. Young secondary growing pains

8. Lack of competent LBer depth

9. Archaic passing system

10. Horrid playcalling when games matter most

11. Poorly strategized and executed offseason

12. Enabling and bumbling ownership and management

How to fix it? Since JJ won’t fire Garrett or himself— here are a few things that I think we can do to improve for 2018:

1. Fire Linehan. Yesterday. Bring in young innovative OC that can get the most out of Dak and Zeke

2. Rod retires. Bring in new DC or promote Eberflus

3. Cut Dez. Draft a WR in round one and sign a quality vet #2 WR in free agency. TWill is a #3 WR.

4. Sign quality vet OL depth. Cut Chaz and Bell. Draft young talent late for development.

5. Draft quality LBer in rd 2 or 3. Resign Hitchens.

6. Draft quality 1Tech in middle rounds

7. Add RB and S in draft— cut Morris

8. Franchise D Law and tender Irving with a 1st rd tender

We are good at running back. Irving played half a season. We could get away with a 2nd round tender on him. Agree with your other points. If we think Rosen or the USC guys are franchise quarterbacks, we need to trade with Cleveland.

Amen. We should have advanced last year in the playoffs. One game that the coach could influence and he did.......to our detriment. Lose the guy and the team is better immediately.

I predicted that this team would be an .500 team with the coaching. Don't point to the injuries and suspensions. Good coaches deal with that. Tune in to the Patriots sometimes.

To call Garrett a head coach is embarrassing to a lot of excellent football minds. This bozo has faked his way into millions of dollars and a nice retirement. You tell me of ONE team that would hire him if we fired him. ONE, please.

I really want to consider how raw he is and how little help we seemed to give him at points, but its tough. He didnt just lose, he lost ugly. I am shaken lol

right now dak looks to be at best a back up who you can maybe win a few games with while the starter is out

Not trying to pile on the guy right now, but it was clear Zeke was the rookie of the year. Wonder if his looming suspension played a role in that.

I want a RB with some juice behind Elliott. As we saw this year— we are not the same team when he’s not on the field and Alfred and Rod aren’t the answer.

Irving’s potential may tempt a team into overpaying— so getting a first round pick as compensation may give us the ammo we need to grab a difference maker in rd 1.

IMO— it’s too early to make a decision on Dak. His third year will tell the story. He’s either the real deal or fools gold— but we need to let it play out a bit before mortgaging the farm to move up and make a play for a QB.

Yah... we are in Jerry’s version of Groundhog Day. Very frustrating.

On the bright side— even years tend to be winning years where we at least make it to the playoffs— so 2018 will be better. Until we get bounced again in the first game lol

I don't agree with all of your reasons for frustration but I do agree with every single one of your forward looking thoughts. Let's hope a high percentage of those actually materialize.

Starts and ends with the passin game. As Troy said yesterday it’s hard to win without explosive plays. Zeke isn’t Barry Sanders so he’s going to gradually wear down defenses 5 yards at a time not break off Multiple 20-30 yarders per game
