Word on the street is that Philly and S. Brown (CB) aren't seeing eye to eye on some things and Brown is becoming very disgruntled. Do you think Dallas should try to acquire Brown from Philly? In my opinion I say yes and the reason why is that it would be a proven veteran beside T. Newman could have the potential to be one of the best corner tandems in the NFL... but that is just my opinion:starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin

Philly doesn't redo contracts, period. Brown will be disgruntled all year, but he will play. Philly holds all the cards, as they usually do.

I'm not sure what we could give Philly for Brown that wouldn't hurt us more than help us. I would like to have Brown because I am more than a little nervous about our young corners. Jenkins was injured some last year so we don't know how he will hold up and I'm not high on Ball anyway. Scandrick is solid as the #3 CB and might be able to take over as starter but behind him we are iffy.

Also, with Newman having injury problems the last couple of years even as much as I love the guy I don't know how much we can count on him being there all year. So CB depth is a big concern IMHO and Brown would be a solid pickup...But at what cost?

Or he'll sit out. He's playing on a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally bad contract.

Players don't sit out the regular season, they are all talk and no action. When they start losing money, they show up. Owners know this and all they do is wait. Philly is an expert at this.

But coaches know that players the team is dependent on at critical positions need to be at training camp.

Brown is daring the Eagles to go CB early in the draft. If they don't, he'll get more money.

Let him stay in Philly and walk thru the season because his contract situation 'may affect his play'...

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfceast/0-9-118/Brown-says-contract-dispute-could-affect-his-play.html

When asked by the Daily News whether a contract dispute could affect his play, Brown said, "It might. You never know. It's certainly something I'm going to be answering questions about all season long."
---------------------------

So now they have two guys who admit they may not be able to play at their best when contract issues are on the table.

And they wonder why the trophy case is empty.

Did Lito get a new contract? Remember they just signed Samuel last year, reup'd Hanson and drafted Jake Igowaku (sp) (kid from Wisconsin who tore up his knee).

Philly holds the cards.

You think they want to roll with Hanson, one leg Ikegwuonu and Samuel? I'd take that bet.

They'll draft a CB in the first day or they'll give in if Brown doesn't show to training camp.

I think Brown is a heck of a player. If they want to let him go, we'll take him. :)

Seriously, I think the Eagles manage their team very well, but when they hit on good players like him, I don't see why they *always* try to screw them over. They may think they can draft guys as good forever, but that luck usually runs out.

he signed the Contract 2 years ago with 4 years left, how is that a bad contract..... That's like Romo Saying he wants a new contract, after signing his contract 2 years ago....

I can see if Brown had 1 year left or even 2 years left but he has 4 years left and he's good but he's not near the money they gave Samuels..

They would never trade him to us, they would rather him sit out than that and no way will the Eagles ever redo his contract.

Couple of things...

#1 they'd never trade him to us. Never in a million years.

#2 this thrills me. Two Corners who are pissed off about being disrespected there. I love it. Brilliant move bringing in Samuel without being willing to pay the talent you already had better money.

I hope it destroys their locker-room for the entire season. I'd love to see 3-13 this year out of them with 2 BIG TIME beat downs by us.

He is trying to get traded. What will happen is:

1.) he won't be traded
2.) the Eagles will draft a corner
3.) he will say he is hurt or
4.) he will be healthy and they will demote him because he spoke up

It happens all the time there.

Mike Jenkins....

Next...

CB is one of the best depth positions the Cowboys have.

Newman
Jenkins
Scandrick

Those three guys give you outstanding quality and depth. Teams don't go 4 deep at CB and have great quality. Dallas has one elite one and two young ones that played very well last year. Jenkins is a younger, faster, and bigger version of Asante Samuel. Plus, he's cheaper. Scandrick was covering big time WRs last year like a blanket.

The offensive line has zero depth, none, nada. LT RT C G

FS has zero depth.

The quality at ILB isn't good, imo.

SS has zero depth.

NT has zero depth, imo.

CB is the very least of my concerns.

Allan Ball played very well in limited action.

The team could look to draft a FS/CB tweener. This player would primarily be used as a FS, but would have CB experience and provide depth.
