On a positive note after losing Jason Witten we got as many receptions out of our TE by committee group a few more yrds and 2 less TDs

Pretty much the same production as last year after losing a HOFer at the position . Future looks good that we will have one of this group emerge as a legit TE and may not have use another pick to upgrade the position .
Could be a dog fight in camp next year as to who will be the starter as Jarwin looked capable yesterday and has the playoffs to strengthen that position
Thoughts

We still need a premium starter at tight end. Someone who can block and catch. Jarwin is only a receiver.

if Rico isnt a guy, let him lose and still draft someone. T RO is on a good route, we still need a blocker and decent catcher and let Jarwin and Swaim do the long catches.

In order to replace Witten’s last 3 years we need someone to master the 7 yard, Box out the DB, catch the ball and drop route.. also needs to do the occasional false start.

I hope we have a decent run in the playoffs to see whether or not the Giants game was a fluke. I'm still thinking TE should be the pick round 2 but here's to Jarwin making that a DT/safety.

I still view TE as a major need. I’m not looking to replace an old TEs production who has slowed down. We need someone who can produce as a playmaker in his prime. I want Kelce, Ertz or Kittles production and I don’t think any of these guys or as a group can produce like that. I think Dak and the offense could greatly benefit from a play making TE especially in the red zone.

I say keep the committee going. Jarwin is more of a recieving TE, yet Shultz can block n catch. Still think how these guys perform on this run will make a difference.

As of now, I'd be fine with a veteran FA TE coming in to add to what the 2 are building. Also, if DAL does draft a guy hopefully it's in the 2nd or 3rd to really push the talent level up.

OT, DT... always get in the trenches.

I think they are happy with Schultz, and Jarwin
Since swain is a FA then we could add a guy but don’t think it’s a top priority

Schultz is definitely the more complete TE of the two. He just needs play experience and an off-season in the weight room.

Both he and Jarwin have come a long ways since Week 1. With Swaim, you have three solid #2s assuming continued progression. Perhaps the staff feels they can use the New Orleans blueprint of 3-4 solid TEs who are somewhat interchangeable.

But I agree, while no longer a pressing need, I'd still consider a potential #1 TE early in the draft. TE and OL would be my preference.

Those are hard to find in today's era.......probably have to settle for a good pass catcher who you can develop his blocking skills. I heard many say developing a receiver's blocking skills all about attitude. They have to wanna be good at it......

I was hoping since it was not a must game that we might feature Rico against the Giants but Jarwin got the targets and came up big . I would like to see more production at TE but was surprised it didn't drop off from last year after losing Witten even though he was at the end .

Defiantly excited to see if we can continue to be successful in the playoffs with Jarwin . Seahawks were probably not expecting to have to game plan for him but after Sunday he has to be on there radar .

Also nice to see us scoring TDs instead of stalling out and having to kick so many FGs . I think having more of a #1 receiver in Cooper opens things up for guys like Jarwin to be effective

It was nice to see a te score a 2nd TD all year. Too bad it was in a meaningless game against a scrub Giants team .

Can our tes win any battles against a playoff caliber defense? I doubt it very seriously. I still think We should be using more slot wrs and rbs but this coaching staff is gonna stick w the everydown te scheme that hasn't won beans.

We'll see how it plays out.

So was Jay Novacek. And although I agree we should turn over every rock trying to find the next best TE, I think right now you have to give Jarwin the nod. We should feature Jarwin and give him the opportunity to be that next great TE. You never know until you give someone a chance.

Dak has a lot of confidence in Jarwin and that means a lot. Witten's sudden departure really hurt the offense but if Jarwin and Schultz can continue to be productive I'm excited about our chances in the playoffs. The offense will be as healthy as it's been all year less Swaim and Fredrick so lets see if they can continue the run.

Drawing coverage downfield and out of the box is just as effective as blocking. Also we need a receiver who can score in the red zone. We did have a significant drop off at the te position and considering it was subpar for several years it's a slap in the face that they are still playing them every passing snap.

We need a te who can elevate our receiving core in the playoffs and first and foremost can score. We don't need another washed up designated blocking te who can't score. We need a te w some deep ball skillsets that can make plays downfield w his hands. Hopefully one of these guys can contribute at scoring at the playoff level and not bog our passing offense down like the last 5 years. Our Te core has been inneffective for years. No big plays or scores just a one dimensional blocking scheme that seems to only work against bottom barrel division foes.

In still looking to draft a starting caliber TE. Im not sold by Jarwin right now. He got all of his TD's and 1/3 of his yards in one game. We will see whar he does in the playoffs

Jarwin looked good Sunday but tap the brakes just a bit on him. The Giants have struggled to defend against TEs for years and it's not like he's been doing this all season. Glad he gave Seattle something to think about but right now that's all he's done.
