First, I get the point you're trying to make. I don't want this to be one among hundreds of "Dak's great. No, Dak sucks" debates. That's not my purpose here nor the purpose of my comment.
Second, the purpose of rankings is validation. Validation: the action of making or declaring (or proving) something ... officially acceptable. Posters who support Dak like to see rankings like this because they validate his position among the league's top quarterbacks. Posters who don't support him like to debate his ranking.
Third, the debate here appears to be where Dak falls on the list. Different lists rank him differently. My point is it doesn't really matter to me where he ranks among the quarterbacks. I'm only concern about him taking us to the Super Bowl. Whether he ranks #2 or #20, if he can catch lightning in a bottle and pull an Eli Manning, he can be #1, #11, #21 or #31 as far as I'm concerned. But to others, how Dak plays absent Super Bowl appearances and rings is what matters. And many of them use these rankings as "See. The people who know football know he's a great quarterback." Hence, my comment about the need to validate Dak continues.
Personally, I'm tired of arguing about Dak, especially in the off season. Either he gets it done or he doesn't. And that process doesn't start until the regular season. I'm trying not to get into off-season arguments about Dak and whether he's worthy to be the Dallas Cowboys quarterback ... unless somebody wanna try a brotha.
Happy Freedom Day!
