He needs to be developed more this year. Kearse and Hooker are in the last year of their contracts. So he needs to show signs he can take over.
Yes those 2 can be resigned, but we know how that goes on here....cap, cap, cap ... what is the cap hit.
He has the physical traits to be a player
Can he develop the mental part is really the question

What I like so much about Bell is that he hits like a linebacker. When he hits a guy… he goes down. It looks like when Donovan Wilson hits a guy. Just explosive.

If he can get his coverage to where it needs to be, he would be ideal to eventually take over Kearse’s role. Bell is a better tackler than Kearse though.
It's definitely the aggressive profile that fits Qs back 7 build agenda, he has done an exceptional job in putting in his preferred pieces.

Not expecting much from a second year player especially with Kearse, Hooker and Wilson still onthe team. Bell just need to make plays during the preseason, earn a spot on special teams and if you're number is called due to injury, make it hard for the front office to give it back.

Have several contracts expiring in this secondary next season, smart teams stack and begin to prepare for upcoming areas of weakness.
I think Q has finally gained enough voice, that some of the FO is actually trying to start paying attention to this very basic detail finally.

I think Bell was so Green that he doesnt even know what he can deliver in this defense, doesn't even understand what Q already knows what he can do.

We constantly get older in our analytics, so sometimes we need to reflect back what it was like to be young and full of potential/talent.

Sometimes, many times it takes an excellent mentor in order to extract that full potential and manifest it.

Bell is part of a depth pool on this roster that all share that potential, with skill set to back it up.

They need to be led by an improved coaching staff to advance, but Bell/Ball/Muk/Wright, all are players in the deep end of the back 7 pool that lead the group of potential talent that figure it out and click hopefully, this roster needs young guns in the back seven to elevate this season and put this franchise into a very solid position for next season as well.
