I know it doesn't mean a lot in week 11, but if the playoffs began today, Dallas would be the 4th seed and hosting the Carolina Panthers in ATT Stadium.

We're ahead of Washington because we have one more divisional win, but they've played one less divisional game. They'll catch up this weekend when they travel to Philadelphia and play a SB champ in a must win game in their own stadium. Washington has two games against Philly and one at home against NY, Dallas has a game at NY and a game at home against Philly.

Beating the Falcons and losing to the Panthers has us tied on common opponent win-loss record. Washington lost to Houston, like we did. They have to play Tennessee, who beat us, and Jacksonville, who we beat. We have to play Tampa, who lost to Washington, and Indianapolis, who beat Washington.

Personally I think Dallas' schedule is a tad more favorable than Washington's, and then you consider the QB disaster there. I think they will still get a few wins; personally I think Colt McCoy is not a bad backup QB, and not every team can play defense like this one (it's crazy to say that, but... yeah). I don't think they'll win enough to keep pace with the Cowboys of the last 3 weeks.

If Dallas could get a win against New Orleans, things look very good after that. In my mind, most likely we see Washington and Dallas both go to 6-6 and then Washington slowly falls out of the picture. After that you have to look at Philadelphia.

Philly and Dallas are very close on common opponent tie breakers. Philly beat Atlanta and Jacksonville. They lost to Tennessee and Carolina. They've got Houston upcoming, and they also beat Indy and Tampa. Those two games are huge for Dallas, they have to win against Indy and Tampa for tie breakers over divisional opponents. Philly also lost to New Orleans so again a win against them is huge but it's a longshot for Dallas... or any team in the NFL

In the division Philly has only played 2 games, beating NY in NY and losing to us in their own stadium. Schedule wise, lots of divisional games and then also the Rams. Aside from the Rams probably winning they've got a tough schedule to predict.

Lets keep the anointing oil away and take one game at a time , if after 14 games we are still in the 1st place in the Nfc E , we can start to get excited , just my opinion.

None of this is anointing. Almost everything I've written is factual taken from the 2018 standings and schedules. Only small portions are my opinions.

Consider this a summary of the playoff picture and Dallas' paths to the playoffs, for those fans here who are interested in crazy things like their favorite team, I don't know, going to the playoffs.

But thanks though, someone did need to say what you just said.

We can also beat them again and forget all that complicated math.

Let's not make this complicated. We need to win. We might be able to absorb a loss to the Saints but we need to beat everyone else on our schedule. I think it's doable and we just need to stay hot.

If we beat the Saints it should give us some margin for error and the hype train will be in full force.

If we beat the Saints, the hype train SHOULD be in full force. They look every bit like a Super Bowl Champ waiting to happen.

Dallas has to try to sneak a win out and then go nuts for the 4 games after no matter what. They are all winnable with the way Dallas is playing now.

Most likely we lose to NO but snivel out the division against weak competition. I'm more worried about the Eagles than the Commanders, and I'm not that worried about the Commanders.

Must be annoying the Giants fans to see them fight so hard to avoid the top pick in the draft.

This division is the Cowboys’ to lose. I don’t think the Commanders nor the Eagles finish with more than 8 wins.

Carolina still has to play the Saints twice and they could lose that 5th seed. My guess is that the Vikings get that spot. Don’t sleep on Seattle, that’d be a fun rematch.

It's that time of the year when I look back at games lost and frankly it makes me mad all over again. The first WASH game, the Texans game, honestly the CAR game....all games the Cowboys could have won. That's why each individual game is so important.

Its like that a lot of years we are 7-9. 8-8, or 9-7. Always some heartbreakers in there that torture us with endless “what if’s” that could have gotten us into the dance lol...

Every season there are games where you get beat... Tenn, Carolina and Seattle just played better than we did and were the better team that day. The Ls that bug you are the ones where we beat ourselves— Houston, and Washington we let slip through our fingers.

8-3 would be a miles away from 6-5– and only a handful of plays seperate us from that record. Frustrating to be sure— especially when the FO basically concedes that they blew it during the offseason when they decided they didn’t need a #1 WR and that they could succeed with a passive OL scheme.

Oh well— spilt milk. Time to go to work and bust NO in the mouth and put together a great Dec. No cake walks on the schedule— we simply have to outwill, outperform, and outlast our opponents.
