Jason Campbell says the plan is for him to start in Washington 2/18/2010 4:28:34 PM

Matt Mosley of ESPN.com reports Washington Commanders quarterback Jason Campbell said he met with head coach Mike Shanahan and the plan is for Campbell to be the starter next season.

Campbell will be an unrestricted free agent, which means he'll likely receive the highest contract tender of roughly $3.1 million. And if the Commanders are shopping Campbell, they're doing a pretty nice job of keeping it a secret this offseason.

Well it kind of makes sense to draft Clausen(but hopefully they draft Bradford with his glass shoulders) and keep Campbell around as the starter for atleast 1 more season while he sits on the SLines and learns.

Their choices are probably gonna be pretty limited. In the long run, drafting a QB #1, letting him sit a year and going with Campbell one more year might end up being their only option considering there really isn't anyone out there at this point.

I hope they draft Claussen

Pleeeease draft Claussen.

Why? I think he's the best QB in the draft and will be a star in the NFL, he was one of the only good things(Tate being the other) on that whole ND team. I think his season stats ere something like 28tds and 4ints which is great when you have to throw 50 times because of a bum defense.

I'd be scared if the 'skins drafted him because that means they're finally starting to make great decisions to go along with all that cash.

+1. Bradford and his windex'd shoulder would be ideal

You have Dallas and as for the devils team you could say Oakland or Cincy(i'd imagine playing for cincy would feel like being in hell).

Funny enough if i weren't a cowboys fan i'd be an oakland fan, something about their jerseys/attitude(atleast when they have success) is appealing. Rex Ryan would be a better fit there but a bruising wife beater is a nice
substitute.

You might be on to something there Hostile. You know we signed connor hughes the kicker from virginia, who might be the best kicker in time we have ever had. Next, someone posted on this board that eagles are going to trade mcnabb to panthers for j peppers and a 2nd round pick. That will get the eagles out of the way, i dont think kolb their backup qb is ready yet. While the giants just lost one of their star players in pierce, also Osi is threatening to retire, etc, remember pierce audibled in a killer play against us in first game at cowboys stadium. And now the Commanders doing this. Hopefully God directs Jerry, and our draft class for a super draft this year and jerry signs a killer free agent to help us this year.

We dont need much to take the next step, just a few impact players like we got after first playoff game in 91 over bears, then we got killed by the lions, then we traded for charles haley and safety everrett thomas in 1992 and went to the superbowl that year.

remember hostile i had my dream last year, where i asked the Lord when were we finally going to win a playoff game and get to the superbowl. The Lord told me in year 2, last year was year 1, all he told me was we would go to the superbowl in year 2.

I actually like the move.

So that I can quit hearing Dallas fans say that Campbell is actually a decent QB.

Everyone will go back to trashing him.

I'm not even sure what Brady Quinn is at this point, he hasn't had the chance to be Mark Sanchez or Matthew Stafford(meaning make a crapton of mistakes) and the guy who run things keeps benching him for Derek Anderson. They basically ruined the guy and i feel sorry for him, he wanted to play for the cleveland browns but he forgot that they were ran by morons who were blinded by 1 fluke 10-6 year with Edwards and Anderson.

Anyway i think Jimmy Clausen will play out much differently where ever he ends up.
